The winner of The Unique Sheep Gradiance skein(s) is:

Sara

Congratulations! Please contact me at yarnonthehouse@gmail.com to collect your prize.

We have a very talented and fun knit hat designer as our guest this week. It's one of my favorite designers: Woolly Wormhead.

Woolly was nice enough to meet up on Skype and do an interview for us; unfortunately, our connection was not quite good enough for a video, but I did get a voice recording. Hope you enjoy the interview!

If you cannot see the player click here.

Thank you so much for visiting us, Woolly! Come back and visit anytime! Woolly has been nice enough to offer the chance for TWO followers to win a PDF copy of her latest e-book, Twisted Woolly Toppers

I just love the hat on the cover of this e-book!

This book includes 10 hat designs that feature unique techniques and offer lots of unisex patterns, which I appreciate. I'm always searching for good looking "manly" hats. I bet hubby would love a Chevron beanie.

Also, TWO followers have the chance to win a PDF copy of one of the following lovely new Woolly patterns:

Castiel

...or, Limpetiole

...or, Anca's Beret

I would like you to do the following if you would like to be entered into this week's giveaway:

1. Read over the rules if you have not done so already.

2. Leave a comment on this blog post by the end of Sunday, 1/2/11. We're switching things up a bit and there's a quiz question this week: Woolly Wormhead only models one of her patterns - which one is it? Don't worry if you don't know the answer! Just leave a comment saying "Hi" to Woolly instead. Have fun!

I'll randomly pick the winners on Sunday and post the results on Monday along with the new giveaway, so be sure to check back. Good luck everyone.

Sincerely,

Ve

The winner of the autographed copy of the New England Knits book is:

Lizbert

The two runners up that each win a pattern of their choice are:

Mujercita

&

Pica

Congratulations! Please contact me at yarnonthehouse@gmail.com to collect your prizes.

I just love quick knits! They're satisfying and when they're as cute as this week's giveaway there's just nothing better - especially right before the holidays when I'm working on so many last minute gifts! And, who doesn't love a wonderful new yarn to go along with the terrific pattern?!

Let me introduce the Belle Ascot pattern...

This stunning and very functional neck wrap is designed by the very talented Carrie Bostick Hoge exclusively for the sensational Quince & Co. yarn line.

I just fell in love with the lace stitch pattern on the ends of this darling ascot.

And, oh my goodness! The Chickadee fingering weight yarn it is knit up in is marvelous!

And, at $5.75 per skein (which, by the way, this pattern requires only ONE skein of) I think I'm in love!

No, really! Love is even putting it lightly! Chickadee and all of their current yarns come in an impressive palette of so many delectable colors to choose from that it is very likely my new favorite solid colored wool yarn to go to.

Plus, I just absolutely love their company story! All their yarn is sourced and spun in the US. I, as an American consumer, truly appreciate that and am happy to see such luscious yarn come from the states!

Quince & Co. is sponsoring this week's giveaway with THREE fantastic skeins of Chickadee. Three followers have the chance to win a PDF copy of the beautiful Belle Ascot pattern and a skein of Chickadee in one of the colors below:

Thank you so much, Quince & Co. for sponsoring this week's giveaway! Come back to visit us very soon!

Congratulations! Please contact me at yarnonthehouse@gmail.com to collect your prizes.

Today I have a great interview with one of my most favorite knitwear designers, Melissa LaBarre, to share with you. She is the designer and co-author of the new and popular New England Knits book that came out this past summer.

I got the opportunity to knit one of her most popular hat patterns, crooked paths, a few months ago and I loved the pattern so much, I had to knit it up again shortly after the first beret.

Here's the first one:

The second beret I ended up running outta yarn, but J really likes it!

I love this pattern so much, I'm going to knit it up again sometime in the very near future! I have a lovely skein of Madelinetosh in a really bright red that will look amazing knitted up into my THIRD crooked paths beret!

Check out the interview...

Also, two runners up have the opportunity to pick one free pattern from these five of Melissa's fabulous knitting designs: november leaves, september circle, eleanor’s slouch, crooked paths, or Acorns.
