Bright blue, green, or yellow (or all three) would add to the tropical feel of Hawaii. Twistyarnshop.com has a couple free sock patterns that are really cute. I especially like the Sake Sock pattern. It has a split toe so you could wear them with flip flops. Ravelry has several dishcloths with tropical patterns (sea turtle, palm tree, etc). It seems like you usually go for wraps, but dishcloths are smaller which makes them more portable.
