endless summer // sun kissed

Oh, the happy, lazy, sunny days of summer! I've spent the last several weeks at home enjoying time with my family, working on some new projects and restocking our yarns. Not to mention, summer is my favorite time of year. The BBQ's, family gatherings, evening runs to avoid the heat, long days, the dogs don't come in muddy, camping trips, bonfires, days at the lake, cold beers on a Friday night... the joys of summertime.

In celebration of the summer and sunshine, I've put together a new Endless Summer shawl series. I'll be releasing two new shawl patterns over the next few weeks for you to enjoy. I love to knit shawls all the time, but especially during the warm months. They make for great travel companions and I tend to have one or five in varying stages and difficulties always on the needles ready to go at a moment's notice. This lovely series of shawls are a gift from us and are available for free! They're simple and could pair well with a sweet chat with an old friend on the porch or a lovely glass of wine without too much thought or concentration involved. Enjoy!

This delightful sun kissed shawl uses one skein of our lovely Little Brother and one skein of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light or other variegated fingering weight skein to compliment. I don't know about you, but I'm constantly drawn to variegated, striping or fun neon colored yarns, but then I have no idea what I want to do with them. I don't knit socks often, which is a perfect use for such skeins, so I'm always on the look out for great shawl patterns. In my opinion, stripes are the best way of breaking up the spotted, streaked and striped! Our subtle tones of YOTH pair so well with the boldness of the colorful yarns that I love, but don't want an entire sweater out of. I hope that you enjoy this freebie and that it helps you bust through some your stash during your Endless Summer days and nights!

Be on the look out for the next shawl in the series shortly and be sure to tag us in your Endless Summer knitting at #endlesssummershawls. Hugs & stitches!
