Congratulations! Please contact me at yarnonthehouse@gmail.com to collect your prizes.

The holidays are just around the corner and I'm sure a lot of you knitters out there are scrambling to get all of your gift knitting in order and done in time. I've decided to throw gift knitting out the window this year! That's right. I'm not knitting anyone ANYTHING! Unfortunately, most of the important people in my life don't appreciate my handknits (sad, but true). My daughter, Jasmine, is now too cool to wear stuff her mom knits! My girlfriends are into brand named things, and my close family (mom, dad, and bro) either never remember they own handknits that I've given them or just choose not to wear them. There is an exception to these people that I still love even if they do not love my knitting as much as they should, my husband. He is my biggest fan! He loves his handknits more than his favorite pair of sweatpants and that says a lot. However, he recently received several handknitted items after verbalizing how much I do not love him, because I never knit for him. I of course rectified that immediately and knit him three hats and a pair of fingerless gloves in like a week or something. So, he may get something special under the tree, but everyone else is outta luck this year! The knitting is ALL FOR ME! Bah! Humbug!

With all of the ME knitting I've been doing lately, I recently got a chance to try out this giveaway sponsor's terrific yarn: Elizabeth and her yarn line Vice that she sells on Etsy. Read the fun written interview I did with her:

1. Please start by telling us a little bit about yourself and what you do?

My name is Elizabeth Inman, YarnluvinLizzy on Ravelry. I have been selling my yarn for the past year and I have been fortunate to have been received well in my local market. I am now at a point that I have started to expand. I am a knitter, crocheter, weaver, spinner and teacher. I have a passion for great fibers. The name of my yarn "Vice" is a tongue in cheek nod to this passion.

I bring a different point of view to my yarns, using luxurious fibers coupled with bright, saturated colors. I am inspired by my travels around the world and this country and admire those that are adventurous in their craft.

2. Your hand dyed yarns that you offer are beautiful. The colors are so vibrant and well layered. What's your favorite yarn or color that you offer?

My favourite to dye is Plain Jane which I make with 11 different colours which then co-mingle to add at least another 11 different shades. It is crazy, it is fun and it is my romp through the crayon box.

My favourite to knit so far is Paparazzi DK. Paparazzi DK is a merino/silk/stellina (sparkles) base that is so lush and tasty to knit. I dyed some in a raspberry colour and knitted a sweater. So far I am just dyeing this to order but I hope to release it in a broader way soon.

3. Can you talk a little bit about your dyeing process and how you got started dyeing yarn?

I am very picky about what I will knit with. I wanted the combination of high quality base matched with deep, vivid colours that just wasn't easy to find in my area. So I created them.

I dye with professional acid dyes, I use citric acid so there is no vinegar smell and I rinse the dyed yarns clear after they are steamed for 45 minutes. This makes the yarn colour fast. I use a variety of methods to dye the yarns but most are hand painted with a sponge brush.

4. For budding new yarnies out there, what's the one piece of advice you have?

It is hard, physical work that has vast competition and takes time and a lot of effort to break in to. Owning your own business means you get to work any 16 hours of the day you want to. But, if it is truly your passion, go for it.

5. What will be next for you? Do you have colorways in the works that you can share with us?

I am constantly developing new colourways (ok, sometimes by fluke). What is next is my new worsted weight yarns which will be available by Christmas.

6. Why do you knit?

I knit and crochet to create. It amazes me what can be made with a ball of yarn and some needles or a hook. Each skein of yarn is full of limitless possibilities.

7. When did you learn to knit and who taught you?

I have been knitting for four years and I am still learning. Sometimes I knit just to learn a new technique and never actually make an item.

8. If you were to knit and live anywhere in the world, where would you knit and live?

If I could coerce all my family and friends to move to New Zealand, that is where I would choose. I love it there.

9. What's been your worst knitting or yarn dyeing disaster?

Early on, I was dyeing with a completely different method which required the yarn to be scoured in soda ash first. I left it in too long and it melted. That was not good.

10. And last but not least, if you were enjoying a favorite drink while reading my blog, what would it be?

A dry, Bombay Sapphire Gin martini with 3 big fat olives. Please.

Elizabeth was sweet enough to send me over a gift skein to try out, and I knit up this gorgeous shawlette with it that I wanna share...

Pattern: Pettine
Designer: Corrina Ferguson
Collection: Sideways Shawlettes
Yarn: Vice Sockalicious
Colorway: Dirty Girl
My Rav project page here
Modeled by: Jane, my brother's very beautiful gf.

The yarn is Elizabeth's Vice Sockalicious, and what a wonderful sock/fingering weight yarn. It's a MCN combo (merino, cashmere, and nylon blend), which is one of my favs. The merino and cashmere are soft and luxurious, and the nylon adds strength and durability, but I'm sure most of you already know this. So, what's so special about this yarn?! It was hand dyed by Elizabeth and the colors are beautiful. She is a very talented yarnie and her vibrant hand dye job made this skein so lovely to work with. I'm the first to admit that variegated colorways are not my favorite, but this skein helped me realize how pretty tonal variegation can work in the right pattern. It was a lot of fun to see the colors change back and forth while I knitted this shawl. It kept the whole process very entertaining!

Speaking of just right patterns... the shawlette pattern that I knit up, Pettine, is definitely that! This shawl is per-FECT for the not so solid colorways of sock yarn I have tucked away in every corner of my home! (Side note: it's perfect for solid colors too!) The garter stitch body and lace edging along with the sideways construction would yield itself wonderfully well to your fun colored skeins of sock yarn you may have laying around. Plus, I don't know if it was the pretty color changing yarn, the great pattern, or the combination of the two, but this shawl almost knit itself with how quick it flew off my needles. I also think its neat soft triangle shaping (depending on your blocking at the end) makes the shawl more modern and perfect for holiday gifts for those ladies on your holiday lists that love scarves, but might like something new and different. Corrina, the designer, has a gorgeous selection of knitting patterns, and truly worth checking out when you get a chance.

Elizabeth has also been kind enough to send over two spectacular skeins of Vice yarn for you to have a chance at winning...

viceyarnblog

The funky multi-colored skein on the left is a called Chubbie (how cute!). It's a sport weight yarn that yields a whopping 342 yards of lovely superwash merino wool. The skein on the right is the enchanting Sparklicious Sterling and has silver strands spun throughout! Not lying! It's 63% SW merino, 20% silk, 15% nylon and 2% silver. Both are awesome and will be a whole lot of knitting fun for two winners!

I would like you to do the following if you would like to be entered into this week's giveaway:

1. Read over the rules if you have not done so already.

2. Leave a comment on this blog post by the end of Sunday, 12/4/11. Who are you knitting for this year? Is your holiday list of handknits a mile long or are you like me and only knitting for yourself?

I'll randomly pick the winners in 2 weeks and post the results along with the new giveaway, so be sure to check back. Good luck everyone.

Sincerely,

Ve

Oooooh that is some GORGEOUS yarn!!! I LOVE the multi skein, especially. This year I knit a Christmas stocking for a friend, but that's it for holiday knitting. Like you, my family isn't big on handknits. I know they appreciate the effort, but they just won't wear them at all. My best friend did hint that she'd love to have something knitted recently, so hopefully after the Christmas rush I'll make something to send her way!

I'm knitting for me mostly. May try to bang out a shawl for one of my bosses so they can each have one, but first I must knit a sword for a friend's son, a by request gift that's already overdue. Otherwise, me, me, me!

I'm knitting for my newborn son this year. He needs cozies for our trip back East from Cali. No time to knit for anyone else... I need to learn to knit faster!

No holiday knitting in my world. Last year everyone got handknit presents and there were a few late nights. This year I'm buying stuff.

I did knit one item for my Mum, but I couldn't wait till Christmas and have already given it to her; I'm currently working on a pair of socks for my husband, but that's all I'm knitting to give away this year.

I am knitting for my family, as always. I also plan to sneak in a project for myself in that list.

For the last two years, I did not do any holiday knits/crochets, so I felt it was time this year to do something. I'm making some stuffed toys for my soon to be two year old nephew. However, no pressure to finish by Christmas, because his birthday is in February.

I do need to complete a pair of mitts (and potentially a scarf) for my sister-in-law; those are my plans for Thanksgiving :)

NO holiday knitting for me this year. I have a few things I've knit up, but mainly for myself.

Woooow, what a beautiful scarf.
And yarn, yummmmmmi.
I'm knitting mostly for me and my children. As we expect new baby boy in February, I already started, some new baby stuff.

I'm only knitting for my son this year, and he's still small!

Tara said...

This is my first year back to working full time (in retail no less!) - well, I was full time last year too, but didn't have as demanding a job - so I am keeping it small and only doing some washcloths for my son's teachers (3 for each!). I will inevitably come up with some last minute knitting for someone like I always do, I don't doubt.

Sylvie said...

I pretty much only knit for people who will appreciate it. This year I'm knitting a scarf for my boyfriend (overdue - I may have said I was making one for /last/ Christmas), a handspun scarf for my grandmother, and maybe something for my mom. Plus doing some froofy lace knitting for myself, because boring scarf + complicated lace make the best travel knitting combo.

DramaticKnits said...

I'm keeping my list to a reasonable length. I knit a small messenger bag for my sister. I also have on the needles a baby hat for a friend's kid and the Citron Shawl that will most likely go to my "mother-in-law".

Orli said...

Beautiful yarn!

Just one gift knit this year--a sweater I promised a long time ago to someone very worthy, which I finally have both yarn and time for.

And a shrug for me, to wear to a New Year's Eve wedding. Sparkles abound!

Jen said...

I'm not actually knitting for anyone for the holidays. I AM, however, finishing up my husband's Valentine's Day 2009 present! (P.S. LOVE that sparkly blue yarn!)

Jess said...

I knit for my sister for her birthday, which is Thanksgiving Day. Other than that I may knit up a quick pair of fingerless gloves for each of my kiddos but that's about it! I'm like you - most people aren't worth knitting for. :P

Oh well, more for me!

Jessecreations on Ravelry

Oh! And I also moderate the Heartfelt Handmade swap group on Rav - the point is to make ONE handmade item for someone who will actually appreciate it and send it along with ONE small extra. So you get to swap with someone who will love your handknits and receive a handmade item from some other crafter without breaking the budget on a big swap. So I'll be knitting for my recipient in that swap, too. :)

I am like you, no one appreciates handknits amongst friends and family except my daughter loves scarves and mitts. That "Chubbie" looks amazing and I would do Hitchhiker in that I think...That would be fun!! Wish me luck!

Oh it's definitely a mile long: Knitting group Secret Santa, Mom, Dad, best friend, and then there is my best friend's baby shower which is 6 days after Christmas. I'm a wee bit behind, can someone send me any extra knitting mojo that's lying around?

I literally drooled over "Chubbie" - that is the most gorgeous yarn that I've seen in a long time.

This Christmas, I went a little "promise happy" - a sweater for my husband, slippers for both daughters, hat-scarf-mittens for daughter away at university in SD and slightly homesick for FL weather, lace shawlette for my mom and a cowl for my mom.

I think next year, I'm going to be "closed for business"... lol.

Either of these skeins of VICE would look great worked into the Pettine Shawl.

I love the vibrant colors of her yarn! I would definitely knit this for me.
I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters as well as parents and grandparents to knit for. Brothers get hats every year, because they don't wear scarves or mittens and I don't knit socks, particularly not for size 12 feet. :D My sisters have gotten hats in the past, but this year they're getting mittens.

Kristina said...

I already finished my holiday knitting... I thought. But, I found someone else I want to knit for, my nephew. Fortunately, he's tiny (only 4 months old), and it won't take me long to knit him a little cardigan. Otherwise, I'm doing a lot of knitting for myself. THis is the first time I've really done any knitting for myself, so I'm very excited about it.

I crochet but do dabble with the pointy stix once or twice a year. This year, though, I do want to knit something for my 16-year-old daughter. I have found a couple of easy patterns, just have to decide which one. I love Lizzy's yarns, and she is a great lady.

My Christmas work party this year just announced the theme - blue and silver - and isn't til Jan. 20th - So I would have time to knock up a quick shawlette! I've got family and friends who do like my knitting, so - a Christmas stocking, 3 Mobius cowls, 2 hats, 2 lace cowls, and 2 pairs of thrummed socks. All but the socks are done....

I'm mostly knitting for myself but have a few ideas in the works for family members (socks for my uncle, socks for my husband, legwarmers for my sister). I am not going to stress if they don't get done though-- I did that once a couple years ago and just about gave myself tendonitis trying to finish 4 hats in time for Christmas. Never again!!!

BTW gorgeous yarn.... :)

I'm being a selfish knitter this year. I'm a very, very slow knitter and knitting is my relaxation. The pressure of gift knitting isn't something I can cope with right now.

Gorgeous shawlette, and I LoOoOOve the sparkly skein. This year I have been knitting Christmas gifts for just about everyone in my family. I started in January and have a ton of stuff done, but I still have about 18 or so to go. This is the year when I find out who is knit-worthy and who isn't, because I've never really knitted for anyone else before. I'm kind of scared all my hard work will go to waste, and I'm secretly wondering if I should write "if you seriously hate this please return it to me." lol

Sabrina said...

Since my family and I don't celebrate the holidays, I'm not under pressure to knit for anyone. What I like to do is work my way through a list of loved ones, at my leisure, and knit for them throughout the year. My latest was a pair of chunky socks for my dad!

I am a sucker for anything sparkly! (It can be seen in the glut of dream in color Starry that I use!) but what pretty colors! I think I would have to knit myself another pair of Seeta fingerless gloves. They show off variegated yarn perfectly with the diamond pattern (plus it's a free pattern!)

Ginger said...

I'm knitting gifts for everyone this year, but unlike last year I'm being smart (or maybe stupid) and not giving everyone the same thing in different colors (felted slippers). On the one hand I got really good at knitting the two slipper patterns I was using, but on the other knitting the same thing over and over can get pretty boring! However, I am WAY behind right now!!

Most of my knitting goes to charity groups. I have one friend that reallys appreciate my knitting. She wants to see everything I knit. I have knitted here several items. I am knitting my 2 nephew's wives a Butin Collar by Laura Nelkin for Christmas.. They in their 20's, maybe they will like them. This coming year is going to be knitting mostly for me. Basicaly, I'm knitting for whomever I have finished projects for! I have lots of ideas, and a bunch of ambition, but never enough time. So, right before Christmas, I'll look at what I've finished and decide who gets what! My sister and SO will definitely be the first ones finished, however.

last year most of my immediate family received hand-knits. this year? not so much! just wasn't in the mood. i'm planning socks for my father, but i think that'll be all!

I usually only knit for birthdays because they are spread through the year! I do knit for one person on Christmas and that is my Mother in Law she is amazing and raised the best son in the entire world.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE so excited to see my name up there :D

That Chubie look amazing!

I am knitting mostly for my 4 year old as he is getting the whole Spud and Chloe Farm. I also knit 2 hats and 1 scarf for friends and hope to get a few more things done for my daughers new dolls also.

Woweeee! What fabulous yarn! I've been knitting up a storm all year for various grandchildren so I'm not doing anything for Christmas other than trying to complete a sweater for a very patient grandson. That and making a shawl for me for a special Christmas 'do'.

I've knit gifts for all of my family members back home in England this year, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, their kids, mom, brother in laws!!! 2012 is definitely thinner I knit for me.

I've already finished socks for my mom, and I've still got two hats to knit- one for each brother. I really try to keep it small around Christmas because I work in retail and my schedule goes crazy. Thanks for the chance to win such gorgeous yarn!!

I'm knitting for myself this year! Got a lace shawl and a pair of socks on the needles, hopefully they'll be finished by the end of the year - I've got a lot lined up for next year!

I have done some knitting this year for Christmas, mostly for my daughter and grand daughter. The rest of my knitting was done for MOI! So no huge rush to complete stuff before Christmas eve this year.
Loved to read about Vice yarn!

The yarn is beautiful! This year, I've already knit socks for 2 of my brothers and I'm working on a pair of gloves for my mother. Luckily, she's a knitter and will understand if I wrap an unfinished project and put it under the tree!

Mostly knitting and crocheting for myself this year. Maybe I'll do a few Christmas toys/decorations too :)

Who am I knItting for this Christmas?? Everyone!!!! Everyone is my family is getting something hand knit. I'm knitting for my Etsy shop, and I'm still sneaking in some hexipuffs here and there for my Bee Keeper Quilt for me! So yeah - everyone!

I'm working on an Umaro blanket for my stepfather and I knit (but haven't seamed) a Luna Infinity Scarf for my mother. A couple cousins have asked for some small projects that if I get to, they'll get. But if I don't get to them, they'll get them eventually :o)

PS I'm drooling over that Sterling Sparkilicious!

I love both these skeins! Sport weight is my new 2011 love and who wouldn't want to knit with yarn with silver in it? I'm knitting for 3 people this year and hopefully I can finish all 3 gifts. My parents are each getting a pair of sock and my BFF is getting a Trillian (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/trillian-2) scarf. DH wants a pair of house socks (so DK or worsted weight), but those will have to wait for the new year. My parents both expressed interest in a pair of hand knit socks when I completed my 1st pair this summer, so hopefully they will love them and appreciate the MANY hours I put into creating them. I'm doing an awful lot of gift knitting. Some for my sisters, some for my nieces and nephews. Lots of baby knits this year. And a personal record of 3 ME knits (almost 4). Maybe I'll get my Christmas knitting done early enough to finish annother!

I´m knitting a lot for myself. It seems that I have so many things I´d like to make that I don´t have much time left to knit for others. For this x-mas I made hats for my nephew and niece and I´m going to make legwarmers for my own kids. That´s about it.

This year i'm only knitting for persons under the age of 18 months. They don't complain, they don't regift, and they can't reach the top shelf of the closet, so i know they won't hide it up there.

I have the same problem - people that don't appreciate hand knits! So I'm knitting for me too.

Wow - absolutely gorgeous yarn! Especially love the multi-colored one... For Christmas, I'm knitting for my kids teachers - 2 Irish Hiking Scarves. I started doing this 4 years ago, and it's become a tradition. I figure that everyone can use another scarf, and if they don't like it, they can pass it on... I'm also making a baby blanket for my sister-in-law who is due in mid-December. If I get all that done, then I need to make some stuff for my kids, and my husband keeps asking for socks - maybe I'll get to knit for myself next June :-)

I am knitting 4 pairs of socks for my Hubby, two for my son and two teacher hats. If I can fit it in, I will knit a hat for the school bus driver to match her cowl:) Oh, and if I get a zipper in my son's Adams Rib sweater that would be great.
I have two sleeping hat requests which I might get out for new years.

Wow - lovely yarns - thanks for the chance to win! Love them both!!! I am knitting a Christmas stocking for myself and one for my husband. I finished our daughter's two years ago and had never gotten to ours. Then I will knit a hat for a cousin who has a December birthday, a hat for my mom, and possibly the fairies that Susan Anderson just designed. I am making everything else for myself (hat, shawl, sweater). Happy Holidays! Stephanie

Good for you not bothering with the handknits for those who won't appreciate them anyway! I'm knitting a farm set from Spud & Chloe at the Farm for my 2 year old and a sweater for her as well. I'm also knitting a pair of socks for my mom but that is it. I just don't have time this year to do things for everyone. I'd rather make a few special things.

I am making the following this year:
pair of socks for my mom
earflap hat for my brother
beanie for my nephew
cowl for my sister-in-law

I'm not stuck on deadlines. If I feel like knitting something for someone, I'll give it to them whenever I get it done. So if I don't finish the above by Christmas, I'll still wrap it and give it!

Like you, my significant other loves handknits and just raves over the socks received. My mother-in-law also raves about her socks. Everyone else really has no care for them. Too bad, more stuff for me.

My Christmas knitting is to finish a pair of socks for the babysitter, put some tassels on the scarf bound off yesterday for mom and everything else is MINE! hahahaha.

I am loving the look of the sparkly blue yarn.

I would love to say I'm only knitting for myself, but I'm not. I did FINALLY start a shawlette/scarf thing for myself that's been languishing in my stash for a bout a year :D

I was supposed to knit my Teen a Watson sweater from the new Sherlock Holmes, but since I have as yet to cast on I don't think it'll be done by the holidays. So she agreed to a knit bear instead. Right after the charity scarves. And baby blanket for a coworker. And some charity hats.

I'm trying to stick to the plan I instigated last year, one hand knit gift for family members each year. It's hard because everyone in the family needs/wants new things and I want to give them. But I learned the hard way that if I start 5 or 6 projects for gifts simultaneously, no one gets a finished gift in time!

karen alho said...

Me, my bff and my daughter. Not in any particular order. It's all on the sticks. Just depends on what I feel like at the moment and whether it's time for idiot work or whether I need to concentrate. I'm with you though! If they can't appreciate it, I'm not doing the time!

Beautiful yarn! I can think of things to make with each yarn.

I am making for several people and even have a few done. I am knitting for all four of my children and 2 nephews, 1 niece, and my mom. My list is longer of who I want to knit for but I will be lucky to get these done in time.

KallieKY said...

I only knit for the worthy. On my gift list this year is a lace cowl for my soon to be niece-n-law and lavendar sachets for my knitting friends (we're the Knitches). My mother (who is a wonderful knitter in her own right) will get some yummy buffalo shorty socks. I think that's it. The rest is for me.

Alice said...

Each skein is great, and great fun, each in a different way. This holiday season I am knitting for a few people who have proved "worthy"--in that they appreciate hand knits, wear them, don't felt them--and don't know themselves. So, it's a sweater, a hat/mitts set, a scarf, and a maybe a shawl--the shawl is for me.

Lovely yarn. I usually do not knit for anyone for Christmas, with an exception this year: a scarf in black for my son. It is progressing slowly and I may need to gift it with needles attached to finish over the holidays, ;-)

Stunning yarn, especially the one with the silver sparkles :))
I have almost completed my Christmas gift knitting, hats for my sister-in-laws, mitts for mother-in-law and a surprise slouchy for my daughter, then onward with a gift for me, a hooded cardigan, a popular pattern called Vivian. Like many, I linger way too long over new patterns in wonderment . . . . off to knit now!

Love the yarn! I generally don't do holiday knitting and this year is no different. no christmas deadlines for me.

I've somehow decided that knitting a tall man-sized cardigan for my husband is a great idea. I've finished some wee baby things for my new niece, and we'll see how it goes when (if) I make it out the other end of this sweater exercise.

Lizzi said...

The only way to describe that yarn on the left is 'jolly'. The blue one is very sophisticated - both lovely. I am knitting for 2 grandsons and I still need to do a couple of hats for sons/sons-in-law. I am not panicking - yet!!

sekiharatae said...

I am still something of a beginner, and I joke that I'm therefore the world's slowest knitter. I have a huge queue on Ravelry, and would love to produce handmade gifts, I just don't think I could manage it. So I'm aiming small with a single pair of socks for a friend, and a dog sweater for our too-little-hair-always-freezing dog.

Both a little knitting for myself and the grandkids. I have myself fooled thinking there's oodles of time yet before Christmas...good thing they have small feet!!

And of course for me.

Gorgeous yarn. Christmas knitting is tricky. I've knit a ton of gifts, and I feel like I've hit the point where everyone who wants a shawl/mittens/blanket/scarf/hat has one. So I'm always keeping my eye out for some special pattern.

Gorgeous yarn! I think I have lots my mind with my xmas crafting this year! I have 4 teacher presents I am making (one finished), I have a commission for two doll wardrobes that I need to hurry up and finish, 2 ornaments, and 40 crocheted snowmen!!! And I still want to make something for each of my children! I see a lot of sleepless nights ahead :D

What beautiful yarn! I have been drooling over these new yarns with silver spun into them.

My knitting Christmas list is very small this year. I just gave birth to my third daughter three weeks ago (she was six weeks early). And so, I have been very aware for many months now that knitting for Christmas presents was not going to happen this year. But I made the most adorable layette set!

Nena said...

I'm doing a few commissions, but otherwise steering away from knit/crochet gifts this year because of the havoc last year. Maybe next year I will have forgotten!

historychica said...

I'm a slow knitter, so I kept my list reasonable. Hat for a friend's baby (completed), mitts for my best friend (less than 1/4 done), and recently completed a scarf for me. Of course, if I won some yarn (like that gorgeous blue sparkly yarn) I'd have to add to my holiday queue...

Anonymous said...

Beautiful yarn, and gorgeous pattern! Thank you for the chance to win!
This year I'm knitting only small Christmas gifts, and only for people local to me, so I didn't have to have them done in time to mail. I'm knitting the last of a pair of socks for my husband, a cable hat and arm/wrist warmers for our closest friends in the town we live, and a few tree decorations for my knitting student. I also have a baby set on the needles for a friend living in a town nearby, but she's not due until February, so I have a bit of time. As for knitting for me, I set aside January and February each year to knit just for me, no one else. (I'm mrsmouse on Ravelry)

Thankfully most of the knitting I had for Christmas I got a jump-start on earlier in the year, but I'm finishing up mittens for my boss and socks for my mum. Otherwise, I'm rushing t finish baby projects before various babies are born!
