I'm in Hawaii! Yay! My trip so far has been fantastic! We've been busy swimming, boogie boarding, surfing, hiking, exploring, eating, drinking, sleeping, resting... you get the idea. Jasmine got to take surf lessons yesterday morning and since there's not a lot of time for blogging, I thought I would share a couple pictures instead.

7am at the beach for an early lesson

There's Jasmine catching a wave!

So, how many of you have been following me since the start of my blog? Most, I hope! Yesterday, August 1st, was my blog's half year anniversary (if there is such a thing). Yay, for the YarnOnTheHouse blog! It's a 6 month old baby now!! I had very high hopes for this blog when I first started, and I have seen all my expectations succeeded and surpassed thus far. Thank you to all my faithful followers. I wouldn't be able to run this blog without your support and readership.

In honor of this small milestone, I have one of my most favorite yarn companies sponsoring the next two giveaways! Ladies and gentlemen.... it's MALABRIGO! Malabrigo is a yarn company out of Uruguay that makes the most beautiful yarns I have ever had a chance to work with, but it's not only me that loves the Malabrigo, check out the Malabrigo Junkies group on Ravelry that has over 6,000 members! Obviously, Malabrigo is doing something right...

Malabrigo sent me five skeins of their brand spankin' new Rasta yarn to share with my followers. This yarn is amazing! It's a super bulky, 100% merino wool that is extremely soft. Take a look...

Since, they sent me five skeins to share, I've decided to keep one skein to try out (because it's research for the blog of course) and offer FOUR followers a chance to win a skein each of this incredible yarn.

I would like you to do the following if you would like to be entered into this week's giveaway:

1. Read over the rules if you have not done so already.

2. Leave a comment on this blog post by the end of Sunday, 8/8/10. That's it this week - just leave any comment you would like! Or, you can tell me how you originally found my blog if you want to! :)

I'll randomly pick the winners on Sunday and post the results on Monday along with the new giveaway, so be sure to check back. Good luck everyone.

Sincerely,

Ve

Oh wow, Mal is usually gorgeous, but that one actually LOOKS edible, like yards and yards of yummy liquorice laces wound up into skeins... It satisfies both yarn and sweet cravings, just by looking at it. Bonus points? NO calories!

Congrats on the half-year birthday!

I didn't think I'd been here since the start, but I just checked the first few give aways and apparently I have. Wow-certainly doesn't seem like 6 months. Absolutely no idea how I got here which is the case with most blogs I follow.

Loving the blog and all your reccommendations so far. In fact because of your blog I planned my vacation around a yarn shop in Medina, OH (Studio Knits? Very nice. Go visit.) just to look for Madeline Tosh DK in Lapis. (Must. Get. Now.)

Sadly not in stock but I did leave with a Mystery Purple Malabrigo (that I've never worked with before) and a Namaste bag, which I wouldn't have known about w/o your blog. I just was wondering what to do with just one skein of the Malabrigo when-poof-you mention the Ravelry group.

Looking forward to another 6 months and more!!

I've been reading since the first post. A friend messaged me on facebook saying there was free yarn to be had. I have "found" several yarn dyers I love, and am having trouble deciding where to buy. Now I'm beginning to realize that this free yarn might come with some costly knowledge. (And cozy socks!)

I can't remember now where I found Yarn On the House, but I"m glad I did! I LOVE Malabrigo yarns. I'm working on my third project with Malabrigo since I discovered it. It's lucious! I'd love to win another skein and get started on something else!

Love your blog and all the givaways. If I had to choose a color it would be difficult, but I love the Kettle dyed yarns and I love greens, so that would be the direction I would head.
