Hi, everyone! It's my last couple of days in Hawaii and I thought it would be fun to share more pictures with you, since I don't have any knitting stuff to talk about. If you don't care to look at my family vacation pics, I completely understand! Scroll right on down to the bottom of this post and see the AWESOME MALABRIGO GIVEAWAY THAT CANNOT BE MISSED THIS WEEK!! And, yes, that was me yelling!
The other day we went to see Waimea Canyon.
It was quite breathtaking.
That's my younger brother, Daniel. Being a dork and posing for a blog pic...
My daughter is posing for the blog as well and pretending to be flying. Yeah, it looks a little scary!
And, of course my goofy husband had to try as well...
Ahhhh...
Then we drove up a little further to a lookout where we could see the Niihau Island.
Here you can read all about it...
A little farther up and you can see the Na Pali coast.
So, so pretty...
Jasmine and Marc posing for another photo op.
This picture was too cute not to share.
Today we went to the Kamokila Hawaiian Village and spend the day kayaking and exploring the historic village.
It's really neat to see all the grass huts and fruit trees everywhere.
There were a ton of peacocks walking around.
Here's one shaking her tail feathers at ya!
I couldn't resist taking a picture of the baby peacock running around. It looks like a baby chick, right? It possibly could be, but after this pic was taken, it ran off with a peacock mommy.
There's really no good reason for this picture except that I thought the lonely leaf was really cool to photograph.
That's all I got for you... now onto the good stuff! This week I am SOOOOOOOOO excited to announce that the Malabrigo giving away is continuing! I have EIGHT skeins of Malabrigo Rios to give away to EIGHT lucky followers. That's right, you heard correctly. I have Rios in my hot little hands and EIGHT lucky winners will have some too shortly.
Malabrigo Rios is a spectacular superwash merino wool in a worsted weight. It is soon to be released into stores, and from what I am aware of is currently not yet available anywhere. How exciting is that?! I can't wait to try this yarn and plan to as soon I return back home! I love Malabrigo Worsted but I think Rios may end up just being my new favorite. I'll be sure to report back.
Take a look at just how lovely this yarn looks...

I would like you to do the following if you would like to be entered into this week's giveaway:
1. Read over the rules if you have not done so already.
2. Leave a comment on this blog post by the end of Sunday, 8/15/10. Check out the lovely Malabrigo colorways of the "my still favorite" Worsted here and tell us which is your favorite. I can't seem to pick a favorite, but today I feel like knitting with Tuareg because it looks like the color of the ocean here in Hawaii.
I'll randomly pick the winners on Sunday and post the results on Monday along with the new giveaway, so be sure to check back. Good luck everyone.
Sincerely,
Ve

I haven't used Malabrigo before. (I know, I'm deprived!) The Damask Rose is beautiful. But really you are right, picking a favorite is impossible!

thoroughly enjoyed your Hawaii pix! Impossible to pick one favorite (often I have this issue, but it is especially true today), but at the moment Azul Profundo is calling my name... or Purple Mystery if I were going to make something for my sister.

Well I'm leaning towards Vetiver as my favorite. I'm very attracted to subtle colorways and neutrals have recently won a warm spot in my heart. Still your request was a bit over-the-top. I mean really. Like I could pick just one. It's malabrigo, it's all gorgeous. YUM.
August 13, 2010 at 10:28 AM
Just one color? I love them all, for different reasons!!! Some of my favorites have been Snow Bird, Lime Blue and Orchid. I have always wanted to get my hands on some Paris Nights, though, I think it's gorgeous, as is Polar Morn.
August 13, 2010 at 10:42 AM
So hard to pick just one! But I like Paris Night. And it's not just because of the name...
August 13, 2010 at 10:46 AM
Amazing photos! Stunning! I can't decide - so many incredible hues. How about the Deja Vu. Reminds me of happy summers as a kid. =)
August 13, 2010 at 10:50 AM
I'm in LOOOVE with the Azul Bolita colorway!
Oh my god! I can't wait to get my hands on this superwash yarn! I'm so ecstatic about it!!

126 Brillante is possibly my favourite but there are so many that it only squeaks past a whole bunch of others. I'm a sucker for anything with purples.
August 13, 2010 at 2:51 PM
This brings back memories of my only trip to HI, over 30 years ago. I'd love to be back there again. I've loved Stonechat and Autumn Forst since they first came out, it's a tough choice, but I'd stay Stonechat would be my favorite.
August 13, 2010 at 6:09 PM
I just love Azul Bolita - what a beautiful shade of blue. Thanks for the giveaway.
August 14, 2010 at 7:12 AM
Beautiful yarn - and it looks like a beautiful trip. The colors as always are great but I love Azul Profundo.
August 14, 2010 at 10:32 AM
Ooooh, it's hard to decide but I think Amoroso is my favorite. I am really drawn to reds, pinks and purples and this seems a perfect blend of all three, and wait, Intenso fits that bill too! Oh and I'm knitting a Clapotis with Little Lovely (although in lace weight) and is soooo pretty. So I can't pick just one but I can pick three! Amoroso, Intenso and Little Lovely and not necessarily in that order!!
August 14, 2010 at 11:20 AM
Hawaii looks so lovely. It's hard to pick a favorite color, but I do love Paris Night.
August 14, 2010 at 11:49 AM
My fave is Vermilion. I love intense reds! Thanks for holding the giveaway!
August 14, 2010 at 12:29 PM
The Rios looks beautiful! I love them all, but Kaleidos is my favorite!
August 14, 2010 at 4:28 PM
People can pick a single favorite? I really like the Little Lovely, but I also like the Oceanos. I love variegated...
August 14, 2010 at 5:30 PM
Deja-vu! But Cosecha would have to be the runner-up.
Why do I come here? I always find something lovely that I need to have! It's so much fun, though!
August 14, 2010 at 10:26 PM
Ah, Hawaii, how I wish I were there. I really like the Noviembre colorway, it is somehow broody, yet bright at the same time. I've given up on trying to make sense when describing colors, that's just how it makes me feel.
August 15, 2010 at 3:56 AM
WOW! Breathtaking photos that you took in the mountains!
August 15, 2010 at 6:32 AM
I guess I would pick Jacinto, but I love all the pinks and purples.
