I'm so excited to share this giveaway's yarn and project! The yarn sponsor this time is an awesome indie hand dyeing yarn genius by the name Rose of Cakewalk Yarns. Rose has an Etsy shop filled with lots of beautiful and very unique yarns, but her specialty in my opinion is her multi colored skeins of sock yarn. They are truly one of kind!

Rose was sweet enough to send me a gift skein of her lovely Sudden Valley colorway to try out and oh boy, did I love it! As soon as I saw a picture of the color, I knew this skein wanted to become a shawl and I chose the simple, but clever pattern Lacy Baktus to knit it up into. Yes, a freebie! Check out my fabulous shawlette!

Isn't it just perfect?! The yarn was so addictive to knit with and reminds me of sprinkles on birthday cake. The bursts of sunny yellow, Bermuda blues, and spots of vibrant reds and purples had me not wanting to set the project down the whole time! I'm not one for highly variegated colorways (just a personal choice), but this neat and inventive coloring technique of Sudden Valley turned out really breath taking. Everyone around me who either saw me working on the shawl or saw it completed couldn't stop talking about how cool it looks!

Rose has lots of other great colored skeins of yarn in her shop now that I would love to knit with... Weenie, Cherry Blossom, and Bloom. Honestly, she has a shop loaded with lots of fabulous yarns! It would be hard for me to choose just one.

Cakewalk Yarns has sent over two extra skeins of Footsie sock yarn in the colorway Sudden Valley for two lucky followers to have a chance to win! Enjoy!

This giveaway post is going to be short and sweet, but filled with lots of goodies! I'm taking off tonight to head over to Napa Valley, CA, for my best friend's wedding. It's been a busy last couple of weeks, but I never let my followers down! This giveaway is awesome!!

I have for you Stephen West's Daybreak shawl and some of the most beautiful yarn I've ever used, by indie yarn dyer Cathrin of Walk Collection.

I ran across Walk Collection while browsing Etsy earlier this year and when I saw Cathrin's beautiful hand dyed yarns I honestly squeeled! I don't use variegated colorways very often, but I fell quickly in love with her Purgatory color. I contacted her promptly and asked if she could dye up a matching semi-solid dark color to compliment the Purgatory skein and I knew that I wanted to use the yarn for my very own Daybreak shawl (which I had been itching to knit forEVA!). Here's my listed and purchased set on Etsy.

To top it all off, Stephen so willing obliged and donated some Daybreak shawl patterns for this giveaway. I told you it was gonna be awesome!

This was my first time working with a BFL, if I'm not mistaken, and I thoroughly enjoyed the fiber. And, Cathrin's colorways are just magical! And, I don't have to tell you how much I love Stephen's designs... I have not run across one pattern from that man that I don't adore. So very well written, laid out, easy to follow, and not to mention beautiful and unique. What else could a knitter ask for?!

Here's the lovely Walk Collection gift set one Grand Prize Winner has a chance to win plus a PDF copy of the Daybreak shawl pattern of course:

Two Runners Up will also receive their very own copy of the pattern as well!! Thanks Walk Collection and Stephen!
