giveaway #41

The winner of the Dindy Beret kit grand prize is:

Kelly J. R.

The winner of the Betsy Braids kit is:

My friend of Mommieof4Munchkins!

The two runners up are:

Krystal who said, "DPNS, just because I have never tried magic loop."

&

Sabrina that wrote, "DPNs for sure! I will say that I haven't tried Magic Loop. I've had a couple people try to convince me to do it, but I like working with DPNs and really am not all that interested in Magic Loop. I hope I win!!"

My dearest knitting friends,

I'm in Mexico! So, please don't be mad if I cut this post a little short. My husband and I are here for two of our closest friends who are tying the knot on the beaches of Mexico in just a few days. I'm enjoying myself immensely, but of course I couldn't forget my faithful YOTH followers!

Even though I'm away in paradise, I still have a fun giveaway to share with you this week. About a month ago, I had the opportunity to do another sample knit for Alana of Never Not Knitting. This time I got to knit up her beautiful new pattern, Shawl Collared Cowl. This neat lil' cowl was such a quick knit and super soft and fuzzy in the Misti Alpaca Chunky yarn. I'm not sure whether this pattern is classified as unisex, but in my opinion, my brother looked just as good in this cowl as I did when we tried it on!

What do you think?

Wouldn't this cowl make the perfect gift for at least half the people on your gift list this holiday season?! It would for me! Also, it was mentioned in the NNK Rav Group recently that this cowl can also be knit in one skein of Knit Picks City Tweed HW. That makes the project even more affordable.

In exchange for the sample knit, Alana sent over enough yarn to knit up another cowl in the luxurious alpaca yarn. Guess who I pass that along to?! YOU of course! So, one follower has the opportunity to win two skeins of Misti Alpaca Chunky in a beautiful rust brown color and a pretty printed copy of the Shawl Collared Cowl pattern.

Squish-i-licious!

Also, two runners up have the opportunity to win the PDF copy of the pattern as well.

I would like you to do the following if you would like to be entered into this week's giveaway:

1. Read over the rules if you have not done so already.

2. Leave a comment on this blog post by the end of Sunday, 1114/10. Say HI and tell us what's currently on your needles!

I'll randomly pick the winners on Sunday and post the results on Monday along with the new giveaway, so be sure to check back. Good luck everyone.

Sincerely,

Ve

Hi!
I technically have a bunch of projects on the needles right now, but the only one getting any love is the wedding stole I'm knitting for my sister in law. It's the "Reversible Cabled-Rib Shawl" by Lily Chin, and it is what it sounds like. The wedding's in a week and a half, so it's crunch time. http://www.ravelry.com/projects/manduh/02-reversible-cabled-rib-shawl

Love, love, love that cowl pattern! Currently on the needles is a vanilla sock, an antidote to a gossamer weight christening shawl that I just finished for a family member.

Hi! =)

Currently juggling a few Christmas gifts: I am in the process of knitting a big wintery cardigan for my mother, a celtic cabled scarf for my boyfriend, and some lacy scarves for my aunts. I have about a month to finish up gifts which need to be mailed out, so trying to knit like crazy. Still have some hats to do after, but the bulk of my knit/crochet gifts are done (Thankfully I had the foresight to start back in July!).

Hi!
I have to classify my projects into two groups.

Personal~ Peasy Sweater in KP City Tweed, Lemon Curd.

Christmas~ Tiny sweater ornaments, pencils(teacher gifts) and fingerless mitts.

I think that lovely cowl would have to go in the "Personal" catagory for sure!
Thanks for another fun giveaway and have a great vacation!

I have too many projects on my needles right now to even try to list. And if I did try I'm sure I'd forget more than a few. However my most active/current project is a light and lacy circular scarf in a double vine pattern. It's for my sister who is going to Israel for school next year. But don't tell her. It's a surprise for her trip!

Hi,
Have fun in Mexico. I am working on a hooded scarf for my neighbor for Christmas. I am also working on a shawl and some afghan squares for charity.

Hi! I'm currently knitting the one row scarf with some yummy malabrigo worsted. It's a great pattern for knitting in the car to Sydney and back.

What's on my needles? Soakers, soakers, soakers! I'm finishing up a new design, so I have been knitting lots of sample soakers for pattern pics. The one on the needles right now has ruffles on the bum. I love it!

Plus, I have a pair of socks patiently waiting for me to finish all the soakers. They're getting lonely. ;o)

Socks! 2 sweaters and unending number of catnip mice ( my cat can disapear them as fast as I can make them. If I didn't have stone floors I'd say he had a stash under a floorboard) and some of Susan B. Anderson's Itty Bitty Toys critters.

HI! I hope you're having a great time in Mexico. I went for a day once to Tijuana and had a good time.

Currently on my needles I have on a puppy dog, a 4 yr olds bolero and a long list of ppl to still knit for. That cowl would look perfect for my male friend who is really into the movies Twilight. It'll give him more of an Edward look. Super cool.
