Congratulations! Please contact me at yarnonthehouse@gmail.com to collect your prizes.
I'm so excited to share this giveaway's yarn and project! The yarn sponsor this time is an awesome indie hand dyeing yarn genius by the name Rose of Cakewalk Yarns. Rose has an Etsy shop filled with lots of beautiful and very unique yarns, but her specialty in my opinion is her multi colored skeins of sock yarn. They are truly one of kind!
Rose was sweet enough to send me a gift skein of her lovely Sudden Valley colorway to try out and oh boy, did I love it! As soon as I saw a picture of the color, I knew this skein wanted to become a shawl and I chose the simple, but clever pattern Lacy Baktus to knit it up into. Yes, a freebie! Check out my fabulous shawlette!
Pattern: Lacy Baktus
Designer: Terhi Montonen
Yarn: Cakewalk Yarns Footsie
Colorway: Sudden Valley

Isn't it just perfect?! The yarn was so addictive to knit with and reminds me of sprinkles on birthday cake. The bursts of sunny yellow, Bermuda blues, and spots of vibrant reds and purples had me not wanting to set the project down the whole time! I'm not one for highly variegated colorways (just a personal choice), but this neat and inventive coloring technique of Sudden Valley turned out really breath taking. Everyone around me who either saw me working on the shawl or saw it completed couldn't stop talking about how cool it looks!
Rose has lots of other great colored skeins of yarn in her shop now that I would love to knit with... Weenie, Cherry Blossom, and Bloom. Honestly, she has a shop loaded with lots of fabulous yarns! It would be hard for me to choose just one.
Cakewalk Yarns has sent over two extra skeins of Footsie sock yarn in the colorway Sudden Valley for two lucky followers to have a chance to win! Enjoy!
I would like you to do the following if you would like to be entered into this week's giveaway:
1. Read over the rules if you have not done so already.
2. Leave a comment on this blog post by the end of Sunday, 10/9/11. What's your favorite Cakewalk Yarns colorway? Check out her shop here.
I'll randomly pick the winners in 2 weeks and post the results along with the new giveaway, so be sure to check back. Good luck everyone.
Sincerely,
Ve

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 215 of 215I like Sprout and Big Betty. Love her names and different color combos.
The "extra" skeins are lovely. However, the colorways I liked best from Cakewalk's site were not shown in sock yarn: the Outdoorsy in Aran, and the Abalone in laceweight, would be my choices (if I could afford to buy any!). Would love to see either in fingering weight!
My favorite is the aran...big ness. love the color!!! love the cakewalk yarns!
I Love Yoga Class, but Honey boy comes a close second, so vastly different, will have to think what I could make and get some.

My favorite is Magilla - with Abalone as a close runner-up!
I like Oak Tree and Park both. They look beautiful!
I actually love the yarn you did in the Baktus...in the colorway "Sudden Valley". It's like you said "sprinkles on a birthday cake"..yep it reminds me of that too!
So much beautiful yarn, but absolute favourite is Castle.
-Ravnejenta on Rav.
My fave is the Cherry blossom!! Such beautiful and easy to work with yarns! I love CakeWalk yarns!
i love the iolite.
Just one? I really like Sudden Valley and Maeby!
So hard to choose! I like Magilla because of the nostalgia behind the name... but I think my favorite is Tomboy. That vibrant pink really stands out!
Wow, they're all so beautiful! I really like Oz. The subtle color variations are really beautiful. I also love how crazy Sudden Valley is though! It reminds me of jaw breakers.
I really like Sudden Valley and Cherry Blossom, although Clubhouse is running a close second! I just loved speckled yarn.
Wow! a lot of nice color combos. I really like Clubhouse and Peppermint Bark-it reminded me of candy canes even before I saw the name.
