Hey, if you didn't win remember that Brenda is still offering her 25% off discount to the YOTH followers for her pattern collection available on Ravelry: enter the discount code YOTH25 during checkout from now until March 25th, 2012.
Recently one of my good friends, Linsay, kicked off her design line Little Lippy Ewe by releasing a truly adorable hat appropriately named: Linsay Rocks.
I had the opportunity to test knit this cute hat; unfortunately, I don't have a FO picture to show off (bad choice in colors - my fault). I did however knit the hat in an adult size and do still plan on wearing it even if you can't see my stripes very well!
The hat pattern ranges in size from Infant to Large Adult and includes both a beanie and a slouchy version. I knit an adult slouchy if you were wondering (loving the slouchy hats right now)! Not to mention that the original darling pink, black and white version was knit up in the fabulous Dancing Dog Dyeworks self striping Waltz Worsted yarn in a color named… guess… Linsay Rocks! Too cute! So, not only can you knit this baby up using a great self striping yarn, you also get directions to just use two or more separate colors. The great patterning in the hat is achieved with simple slip stitches and is so eye catching if you choose good contrasting colors, ahem! This pattern is cholked full of variety and instruction. What else could you ask for in a hat pattern?!
Linsay has since released two more patterns: Be Aware Hat and Taralyn. My friend, you are on a roll! Keep up the fantastic design work.
Check out what Little Lippy Ewe & Dancing Dog Dyeworks has put together for you this giveaway:
One Grand Prize Winner has the opportunity to win a fun Linsay Rocks skein from Dancing Dog Dyeworks, a DDD canvas project bag and their very own PDF copy of the Linsay Rocks hat pattern. One Runner Up Winner will also receive a DDD project bag and PDF pattern. How fun!
You can watch for updates and other Dancing Dog Dyeworks news in the Dancing Dog Dyeworks Ravelry page.
I would like you to do the following if you would like to be entered into this week's giveaway:
1. Read over the rules if you have not done so already.
2. Leave a comment on this blog post by the end of Sunday, 3/25/12. What three color combo would you use to knit up a Linsay Rocks of your very own?
I'll randomly pick the winners in 2 weeks and post the results along with the new giveaway, so be sure to check back. Good luck everyone.
Sincerely,
Ve

Raspberry Fields or Sophia - can't decide, such lovely colours! Self-striping yarn totally impresses me.
Jelly Beans and Summer Sugars will knit up great as this cheerful hat.
Beach glass of the ones on the website, but I'd love to see one in Peacock, teal and yellow.
I love the DDD self striping yarns. I have not had an opportunity to knit with them yet and would love the chance to win this giveaway. Hats are my favorite thing to make so this is perfect.
My favorite colorway is Sophia
Nice pattern! I'd knit it in Lucky Leprechaun as I love greens.
I love Waltz, that's pictured. I can't resist hot pink!
If I was using a multicolour DDD, it would have to be Robots, just because robots are awesome. Making a triple combo myself, I'd use raspberry, lilacs and ice pink for a little princess and swap the ice pink with chili verde for myself.
I love LOL, Sea Grass Green, Love my Gnomies, Cherry Red and Tangy Orange. Definitly some of those colors!
I would use Navajo Jerry, but I would love if it had some white in there for more contrast!
I like blues, greens and browns together!
It's too cute! My grand daughter would love a hat with pink in it. I like the pink/white/black striped yarn.
Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I love anything with blue and green...maybe a bit of grey or purple, too?
Navajo Jerry is calling my name
Gorgeous colorways! My favorites are Navajo Jerry and Mickey's Tardis. :)
Great job, Linsay! Ishes so very talented. :)
I would knit with something like pink, teal and a mango color of sorts for my little girl, or for my son, blue, green and brown. :)
what an adorable pattern!!! I think I would love one in black, lime and purple :D
So cute! Love it. I'd love a series of blues and greens or maybe mustard and grey.
I'd show my Iowa Hawkeye pride and knit in black, gold and white!
Yellow, green and white
Hmmm...I'm thinking blue, green, and white. For spring. :)
That's easy! Maisy and Bella (love Diane!) with a coordinating black and white.
I just love that jelly beans color but if I were going to choice solids--pink, grey and white.
By the way, Linsay's patterns are very cute. I especially like the cowl.
Very cute -- love the slipped stitches. I am on a blue and grey kick right now, so maybe dark blue, grey, and yellow.
Navajo Jerry would capture my spirit.
Haven't tried DD yarns yet so thanks for leading me to them :) Depending if I had a recipient in mind as to choice of colourways but love zomb2 and waltzlol2 - fun and bright!
grey, orange and blue (dark)
I'd go with a light blue/dark purple/brown combo. So cute!
I am a total stalker of the DDD colorways for monster knitting, and have been for a long time! For a hat... I am thinking... emma jerry? It sort of has several colors right there mixed in! It's impossible to choose, seriously! :-)
if i were going to use one of their colorways it would be navajo jerry or three other colours would be lime, lemon, and tangerine, for my little brother!
Lovely pairing of pattern and yarn. I'd pick Emma.
I like the Emma colorway, and if I had to design my own I think I'd use plum, olive and lime. :)
Oh this is TOO cute! It would be GREAT for my 6yr old little girl and my 8 month old little girl!
If i could pick 3 color combos, i would pick: grey, pink and teal. =)

How about Teal, Pink and Navy?
(goodstuff on Rav)
I'm loving the Navajo Jerry. Mmmm
In the DDD colourways I really like the Emma Jerry and the Zombie -- if I was going to use three solid colours on my own I would use red black and grey -- or maybe cream... so many awesome combos to choose from!
I had a terribly hard time deciding!
I love all the colors, but finally narrowed it down to this color combo:
Perfectly Purple
Monster of Many Colors
Pink Ice
I'd alternate stripes of Monster between alternating stripes of Purple & Pink.
Love it!
My 3 colors would be Daisy, New Lime, and Tangy Orange.
I suppose it would depend on who the hat would be for. If it were going to be my hat: greens, purples, and black or white. If it's for Little Man: bright yellow, baby blue, and probably white.
I'm weird like that.
I'd make a neutral tri-color with a berry "pop": Waltz worsted in chocolate brown, grey, and perfectly purple.
The color pictured would go just perfectly with my granddaughter's new jacket;-)
Love my Gnomies and Tangy Orange caught my eye immediately. I love the self-striping.
hotknitter
I don't see my favorite color combo in there--browns and pinks and whites, for a Neapolitan ice cream sundae on the little's head!
I love the hot pink in the Lindsay Rocks color that is in the picture, my second favorite would have to be the Navaho Jerry color way on the DDD website.
Lime, teal, and white would be pretty I think.
I like both the Linsay Rocks colorway and the Navajo Jerry!

I think Sugar Skulls and Linsay Pink would look awesome and purple
I would use Lucky Leprechaun or Navajo Jerry for this.
Such a cute hat! My daughter would love it just as pictured. And for my son I think it'd look pretty dapper in an olive, burnt orange & chocolate combo.
I'd knit it in DDD Sweet Pea Stripe if I could - white, green and pink :)
I would use lime green, royal blue and tourqoise blue for the cute little hat!
Purple, Blue,and White :0)

I'd have to do it in Linsay Rocks - my oldest niece's favorite colors are pink and black!
Orange Blue and White! It would look super cheerful on a grey, chilly winter day!
I'm thinking I would use red, white and (cobalt) blue so it would match my daughter's soccer team. I cannot say who would get to wear it among me, my daughter or my husband!

I like the Emma and pink ice and luscious lime.
I would use lime green, hot pink and black. I know sounds strange, but think about it.

Sophia jumps out at me, but all of the colors are gorgeous! Every one of them is nice - it's rare to like every colorway, isn't it? I'd use emma, devon or navajo jerry!
Purple, lime green, and white. You'd never lose your kid in a crowd again!
Yay a chance to win great products! Hmm I am terrible at color selection as I am so fickle. Of course anything with DDD would make a great hat.

I would choose an orange, magenta and cream colour to knit up the hat.
I'd use Beach Glass Blue, bright green and either brown or purple for the 3rd color.

But for DDD, I'm always up for whatever Michelle creates!
I love orange and red and purple!
I have to go with lucky leprechaun. I'm Irish (by marriage) after all! Thanks for the chance to win!

Brown, Cream, and Lavender. :)
Peacock!
I couldn't see the yarns on the site but I would look for a combination of fall colours - rusts and mustards would be lovely.
Oh, what a great hat! Before I read the question, I was already thinking the black, white, and pink color combo is perfect! But I would probably do several shades of blue or green if I were going to make one for me. :)

I have never used DDD yet, I would love blue, purples and greens together:)
I've learned to not say I have a favorite...or least favorite! Cause as soon as I do, it changes and I find yarn that proves me wrong.
