I think it would make awesome gloves. And a matching hat if there were enough left.

I would LOVE to win that yarn! Holy smokes.... gorgeous. Those spattery colourways are nutso pretty. I think I would make Summer Wind! (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/summer-wind) I think it would really show off all the variegation in a lovely way :) OR I could see it looking stunning as part of a Roxborough Dolman (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/roxborough-dolman), maybe with some cool gray for contrast!

Love the skype interview too! So fun to watch!

I haven't made socks in a while, so I think it would be socks like "Froot Loops" from Knitty. They are perfect for variegated yarn.

Thx for a great contest!

Socks. Or maybe part of a sock yarn blanket for Little Man. But, really, let's be honest...socks.

Marlitharn said...

Socks! They're not my most favorite thing in the world to knit but they are definitely my favorite thing to wear, so it all balances out. I love seeing pretty socks on my feet.

Amanda said...

Cakewalk does always scream socks to me, but your comment about garter stitch got me thinking...

Jade said...

Probably socks, it's always nice to add a splash a colour to my feet :)

I'm thinking of making a pair of socks or using part of it for the tiny owls beekeeper's quilt where you knit little hexapuffs out of your leftover sock yarn.

I would do matching mother daughter socks as a way to help keep my daughter who is leaving the nest for college and myself connected. I imagine us putting on our socks in our own worlds but thinking of one another and stepping closer and further away.

That yarn is amazing! If I was to win, I would make the Thin Ice shawl by Laura Linneman. I would love to own this yarn!!

Christine said...

I would make something that used the Feather and Fan pattern because 1) it's one of my favorites, 2) it shows off variegated real nicely.

I've been knitting shawls for a few years now, cuz I love knitting lace, and I might design a shawlette for this yarn.

I would definitely have to make something for the kidlet..."Summer Days" or the "Angel Fish Skirt" - both patterns by Elena Nodel.

Soooo many creative choices this delicious yarn offers!!!!
I think I'd like to work it as a adorable granny square baby car seat cover. Bet it would be really cute!If the yarn isn't quite enough I'm sure I could find something in my stash in a coordinating solid color to finish with a nice border!
Keeping my hook and needles crossed that I'm picked!

I would love to get my hands on some of this yarn. I would make the Baby Mystery sweater. I have wanted to try that pattern and think this would be so pretty.

Kimberlyn said...

I think that the speckled Cakewalk Yarns need pretty simple patterns. I am knitting a pair of Pillars socks by Lisa Stichweh in the Taos colorway. So, if I knit a pair of socks, I would choose something pretty simple.

I think this yarn would also make a great slouchy hat, like Sockhead or even Susan's Baby Slouch!

What would I knit.....? I love Strickmich's Lintilla shawl. I love how the garter stitch brings out the colour variegation and those ruffles are beautiful. I am on a sock kick right now, so it would have to be socks. I have made two pair by Susan's pattern and have given both away! Love them!!! I need to make some for myself!

Socks... maybe 2 sets of matching socks for my beautiful grand-daughters! Or possibly something else for them...I rarely knit for myself )=
I love the Skype interview format! It's awesome to see. Thanks so much... and thank you for the giveaway, too. jdthomas1974(at)msn(dot)com

I've tried so many times to make socks, but I keep frogging them... maybe I just need the right yarn! :-)

I think that I would make a simple shawl with the yarn. I love the colors!

I would knit either a shawl, socks, or long cowl.
Love the interview!

I covet Susan's socks made with this yarn so I'd either do some socks or a lacy cardi for my two-year-old.

Thx for the interview!

Can't decide between Mince Pie Mayhem socks by Alice Yu or the Roam Cowl by Jennifer Dassau, I'm leaning towards the cowl though!

I would definitely make socks with this yarn. I could make a couple of pairs for my son's 5 and 7 year old best girl friends.

Thanks so much!

I am wanting to do some stranded colorwork sock, and that would be such a fun color to start with!

I see one of Susan's toys made out of this yarn. The hippo or maybe a bird with the color changes. I have my fingers crossed!!

Even though I'm not a great sock knitter, this yarn would be great for a fun pair of socks. Second would be a shawl, that would be really fun in these colors.

I would love to knit with this yarn. I would knit a shawl, I think! I've been looking at the baktus pattern, but a cardigan for my granddaughter would be a consideration, too!
