Socks! They're not my most favorite thing in the world to knit but they are definitely my favorite thing to wear, so it all balances out. I love seeing pretty socks on my feet.
Cakewalk does always scream socks to me, but your comment about garter stitch got me thinking...
Probably socks, it's always nice to add a splash a colour to my feet :)
I'm thinking of making a pair of socks or using part of it for the tiny owls beekeeper's quilt where you knit little hexapuffs out of your leftover sock yarn.
I would do matching mother daughter socks as a way to help keep my daughter who is leaving the nest for college and myself connected. I imagine us putting on our socks in our own worlds but thinking of one another and stepping closer and further away.

I would make something that used the Feather and Fan pattern because 1) it's one of my favorites, 2) it shows off variegated real nicely.
I've been knitting shawls for a few years now, cuz I love knitting lace, and I might design a shawlette for this yarn.
I would definitely have to make something for the kidlet..."Summer Days" or the "Angel Fish Skirt" - both patterns by Elena Nodel.

I think I would make zilver I love the simplicy of the pattern it would really showcase the yarn.
I'd make a pair of socks but this time I'd try to break out of my usual 3x1 rib and go for either a lace or cabled pattern (or both!)
I think I would make LaLa's socks on a plane or a hat with a cute ruffle and mittens for my 4 year old out of Cherry Blossom.

Cakewalk yarn is lovely! The colors are so vivid and reminiscent of favorite childhood places...such as the bakery:) If i won the cherry blossom yarn I would make a top down hooded children's sweater or socks. I am completely obsessed with sock knitting this year.

I love following you and Susan but not very happy you guys weren't considerate of me as I am deaf and I cannot hear what you guys were talking about to get the question in order to participate in the contest. I would love to enter in the contest but I guess I can't now!
I would love to get my hands on some of this yarn. I would make the Baby Mystery sweater. I have wanted to try that pattern and think this would be so pretty.
I think that the speckled Cakewalk Yarns need pretty simple patterns. I am knitting a pair of Pillars socks by Lisa Stichweh in the Taos colorway. So, if I knit a pair of socks, I would choose something pretty simple.
I think this yarn would also make a great slouchy hat, like Sockhead or even Susan's Baby Slouch!

I would make footie socks. I have bigger feet for a girl (size 12)so making footies gives me more "bang" for my yarn. I can get 3 (!) socks for mix n' match fun. AND, I love Cakewalk Yarn--awesome giveaway!
As much as I love sock knitting, I'd want something that lasts longer. So I'd choose a shawlette. Something with simple garter only so that the yarn is the focus, not the pattern of holes in the lace.

Susan's Opal Sock Yarn bunny inspires the idea of using this to make an itty bitty toy.
At first I thought of making some fun socks - but socks are my go-to project. So maybe I'd branch out and make something else like a hat or cowl or mitts. Or maybe just another pair of socks!

I think some sort of sideways shawl would be my choice.
I'd make a pair of colourwork socks, either Nightingale or Bonnie Birds, I'm bound to have a good contrast yarn in my stash and if not I can dye something.
I'd probably make a really simple pair of socks - either ribbed or with a simple cable (maybe with an interesting gusset to spice things up, but I wouldn't want to choose a pattern that would compete with the yarn).

I came across Cakewalk Yarns when I was stalking etsy a few weeks ago, now there's a giveaway - it's calling me :p.
What would I knit.....? I love Strickmich's Lintilla shawl. I love how the garter stitch brings out the colour variegation and those ruffles are beautiful. With the Australian summer on the way it's such a lovely light summery colourway - Cherry Blossom, Lintilla and the Aussie summer are made for each other.

Can't decide between Mince Pie Mayhem socks by Alice Yu or the Roam Cowl by Jennifer Dassau, I'm leaning towards the cowl though!
I would definitely make socks with this yarn. I could make a couple of pairs for my son's 5 and 7 year old best girl friends.

I see one of Susan's toys made out of this yarn. The hippo or maybe a bird with the color changes. I have my fingers crossed!!
Even though I'm not a great sock knitter, this yarn would be great for a fun pair of socks. Second would be a shawl, that would be really fun in these colors.
I would love to knit with this yarn. I would knit a shawl, I think! I've been looking at the baktus pattern, but a cardigan for my granddaughter would be a consideration, too!
