Something garter st. as recommended in the video, something for my blue-eyed daughter, or socks most likely.

SOCKS! Maybe branch out of my comfort zone a bit and make something more than a simple "vanilla sock"

Cakewalk yarns are too pretty to hide on feet! It would have to be a shawl.

Fun chat :)

Having never made a Baktus despite it being in my rav queue forever I would have to say I agree with Susan's suggestion and go with that.

Such beautiful yarn

I would make some beautiful socks and maybe just stockinette since I love the colors and would want to show them off!

I loved the socks Susan made from this yarn. I think I'd copy her and make a pair for myself. Thanks for the chance to win!

The yarn would look great while knitting one of Susan's pacifier's. My friends are having babies and really cool to knit something different for a change.

I think I'd make the Hitchhiker scarf that I've been obsessing about lately. :)

I just found your blog from a link on Susan A's. Looks like fun! I am just now starting to venture into lace knitting (cast on a lace scarf last night that is for my niece in Texas)so I would love to try a simple lace shawl pattern. Something that would show off those great colors. My LYS doesn't carry this yarn so I'd love to see it and snuggle it in person. Delia J

I've found myself stuck in the car a couple of times recently with a napping toddler, and realized I hadn't put an emergency project there to keep me occupied! And the cherry blossoms look like enough yarn even for my size 11s, so I'd like to knit socks for me and the sleepy toddler.

Elizabeth D said...

Socks. And this pair I would keep! Oh, that is such pretty yarn.

I would definitely knit a pair of socks for a cold Canadian winter! I love these knitting blogs!

Such a simple question but hard to answer. My 1st choice would be socks but I could be tempted by a small shawlette. I would probably spend lots of time on Ravelry pondering the decision.

Oh my, difficult question. I have yet to knit a pair of socks so perhaps this could be my first foray. Or mabye Jared Flood's Turn A Square hat w/ the yarn held double and no stripes, just beautiful Cherry Blossom yarn! I love that you're located in MI, I live in Three Oaks in the southwest corner of the state. Thank you for the giveaway.

I've been on a shawl kick and need an excuse to do the Ocean City Shawlette.

alyclaire said...

I honestly cant fully say what I would knit with this yarn if I were to win it. I find that sometimes seeing a yarn on screen and then holding it in your hand invokes totally different images of what it could be. Just from looking at it though I would love to turn it into a beautiful lightweight shawl, Maybe one of Susan Ashcroft's designs (I love her simple to knit garter based shawls) or maybe one of the 4 hitchhiker patterns. But then if I win and I'm holding the yarn in my hand I might see a beautiful pair of fingerless gloves or a slouchy hat instead. Either way this yarn is gorgeous, and that crazy for me because I normally don't care for variegated yarns :)

Wonderful giveaway thank you :)

I am so loving knitting up different shawls this summer. Would love to use this yarn to try out yet a new pattern, perhaps the Baktus shawl. The yarn is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for the chance!

The yarn is so pretty and the name for it is quit fitting. I would make a pair of socks to wear with flip-flops so you can see them.I live in ohio so come spring I could start wearing them. Also I would make something for a baby cause there are so many babies born in spring. Thanks for the chance of winning such beautiful yarn <3

I'd probably make a shawl, although I'd be tempted to venture into sock knitting for the first time with this beautiful skein! I first saw this yarn on Susan Anderson's website, and I would LOVE to try it - it's BEAUTIFUL!!

i love the colors, the splatter is just so cool. I would love to make a cowl for my daughter, she is starting first grade this fall. those long cold rides home on the bus in the afternoon will take some getting used to for her, so it would be great to wrap her in a handknit hug.

Liz,
I would knit up a lovely pair of socks that I could admire while wearing Birkenstocks.

Oooh! That yarn is gorgeous! I love the idea of knitting a Lacy Baktus with it or I might knit a pair of Fallberry Mitts. I saw a pair in this pattern on Susan's blog, and I think they would be beautiful in this color way.

Anonymous said...

I love this colorway! I would knit some picot edge socks with it or a baby sweater, either would be so cute!

Sandra B. said...

I would be thrilled to knit something with this yarn! (At the moment, I'm hexipuffing with Edisto & Sprout also from Cakewalk Yarns.) Lovely yarns to work with! I think I would make a pair of socks for myself with this. If I had any leftover, I might make a little sweater for a stuffed animal.

Unknown said...

I would make socks as the colors go with most of my wardrobe!

Sue (alagrneyez@aol.com) said...

I love love love that yarn. The interview was great too. I think I would knit socks or matching mitts for my grandaughter and daughter. The yarn is so pretty it needs a plain knit JMHO to show it off.

LaLa said...

Thank you so much for a wonderful interview and for the link to the My Hope pattern! I think Susan's socks out of the Cakewalk are gorgeous and would most likely knit a simple sock as well!

I've been on a hat kick recently. So I'd probably make a hat. When you have unruly hair like mine, you can never have too many bad hair day hats.

I am in the process of making my first pair of socks and LOVE IT! This Cakewalk Yarn would make an awesome pair of socks. Thanks for the chance to win!

Elaine said...

Somehow I don't knit socks out of sock yarn. I would use the yarn for a scarf or a simple hat. The colours are too complex for a lacy pattern.

Anonymous said...

I haven't started to make socks yet, and I am on a bit of a shawl kick myself.

I might try Jaala Spiro's Bridge over troubled water, or wait for her fingering weight shawl pattern that is based on the silk crescent moon shawl.
