Giveaway #60! Woohoo! That's a nice round number, isn't it?! This giveaway I have two very lovely ladies to introduce to you: a very talented designer and an indie yarn dyer that creates some of the most beautiful yarn I've ever seen.

Let me introduce you to Stephannie Tallent. She is our lovely and very talented designer that is being featured this time.

Stephannie designs some beautiful knitwear and a lot of her work has been featured in knitting magazines and various publications. Here are some of my favorites:

- Kelpie: I think Stephannie designed these just for me!

- Ocotillo: such cute mittens that are part of an e-book that Stephannie published. There's something about true mittens that makes me cherish the craft of knitting.

- Zylphia Pilots Her Airship: a must knit for me! I LOVE the lace work and the feminine shaping of this sweater. I especially love DuchessOfYarnover's FO!

...which leads me to this giveaway's pattern feature: the Zylphia Cowl

How gorgeous is this cowl?! It uses the same lace pattern as the sweater and the sweet picot edgings make this cowl so romantic. It even looks nice on your feline friends...

And, I've found some of the most beautiful yarn to go along with this gorgeous cowl pattern! Meet Sunflower Yarns. Amanda Dahl is the very sweet and also very talented yarnie behind this brand, and boy-oh-boy can she dye up some drool worthy fiber goodness! Look at these fantastic colorways: Grass is Greener, Windward, and Silver Gray (which is the colorway that I want to knit up a Goodale sweater for myself in, whatcha think?).

Amanda has very generously sponsored two giveaway skeins of her Strafford sport weight yarn for two very lucky followers and she was so very sweet to send me a gift skein to keep all for myself!! Take a look at the gorgeous semi-solid goodness she sent over for us to enjoy:

BTW, I'm keeping the stunning Bing Cherries red skein at the bottom of the picture!

Along with a skein of Sunflower Yarns, the two winners will also receive a PDF copy of the Zylphia Cowl. That's just enough yarn and pattern to knit a beautiful Sunflower"y" Zylphia Cowl of your very own! Thank you, Stephannie and Amanda for being our wonderful sponsors!

I would like you to do the following if you would like to be entered into this week's giveaway:

1. Read over the rules if you have not done so already.

2. Leave a comment on this blog post by the end of Sunday, 5/22/11. I've been casting on and dreaming of knitted sweaters lately even with the sunshine peaking it's head out from time to time. Not sure why the warmer weather has spurred me to want to knit sweaters, but I hope I'm not wishing for summer to be over before it's begun! What about you? What are you dreaming of knitting in the next couple months?

I'll randomly pick the winners in 2 weeks and post the results along with the new giveaway, so be sure to check back. Good luck everyone.

Sincerely,

Ve

I'm dreaming of knitting gloves and mittens ... we are heading into the last part of Autumn here and have already had tastes of the winter to come! LOL That and ongoing quakes are not a good combo!
I also keep thinking of the first fleece-worth of handspun I have sitting and waiting ... I'm thinking that a coat seems like a very good idea for this time of year.

Right now I just wish I had time to knit at all. I'm in the middle of thesis hell, and cherish any moments I have to knit. If there were no restrictions, though, I would finish the shawl and the socks I have on the needles, and frog some old projects so I could re-purpose the yarn!

I'm dreaming of knitting mittens and hats, as Joanne says we're heading for winter and I have handspun yarn that's itching to be turned into hats. I'm also hoping that my son will earn his skull and crossbone mittens now that I've done the design work!

I've been dreaming of knitting socks for myself, but I'm really knitting and crocheting lots of charity hats and scarves. Now I think I'll add Sunflower Yarns to the daydream along with a lovely cowl.

I'm only hoping to knit all! PROCRASTINATION is keeping me from finishing off a few things, GUILT is preventing from starting anything new.

I'm dreaming of knitting more shawls and socks, esp. pretty lace ones.

I promised to knit my sister a cardigan as a graduation present, but after that I want to try my hand at knitting socks, which I have never done before, and given that I'm traveling a lot this summer, it would be a nice portable project.

Just finished a fingering-weight sweater, so I'm happy to be starting an aran-wt. bell-sleeve shrug that's been in the qeue (and the yarn in the drawer) for a couple of years, but I'm also looking forward to trying my hand at a few open-work summer tanks in cotton blends, making up the patterns for them. And a knitted corset, I've been dreaming about that for 10 years or so. I am NOT dreaming about the hat I knit for my hubby that somehow came out slightly too big and got all misshapen in my attempts to shrink it, which awaits frogging and reknitting. Fortunately we have all summer for me to have more successful projects to wipe away that pain so that I may start anew! :D

I'm dreaming of flowing cotton vests and light and lacy cardigans for Spring and Summer wear.

I'm dreaming of finishing the master knitting level 1 class of TKGA and making a Noni Designs bag and finishing all of the projects on the needles. I could use a cowl for my work travels.

Yarns are both so beautiful. It will be hard knowing which one to cast on first! If the very lucky winner, perhaps it will come to me in a dream. For dreamy they are!

I'm going to learn to knit socks toe up. I want to give lots of wooly goodness for gifts this year and handknitted socks have been requested by almost everyone.

LOL.... I have been thinking a lot of knitted shawls. Thankfully I can do light weight ones this summer, or at least start some.... hehehe. But fingerless mitts and cowls are on my list too... currently have a cowl on the needles that I am making up as I go... rather fun. So much knitting to do!!

(The bing cherries yarn is stunning... tho I am jealous, I think you picked well for yourself.)

Up next for my summer knitting will be a tee with short cap sleeves and a scoop neck. And maybe I'll have to buy some yarn for that...

I'm working myself up to knitting my mom wristlets to match her Pretty Thing cowl. And then I'm not sure what I'm going to knit. I think I need to knit myself something, but that might involve spinning the yarn first.

Between gathering ALL of my mother's yarns and donating them recently, and teaching a couple of young girls how to knit and crochet, I had a hankering to visit my LYS. In there was the cutest scarf and an equally cute summer sweater. Of course, I just had to purchase the patterns and yarns.
But packing and moving keep me from getting started on these treasures. So needless to say, I have been dreaming lately of knitting them.
Can't wait to get started!

Right now I'm dreaming of knitting ANYTHING BUT the Pamuya shawl that I have been working on for MONTHS. I've been knitting in front of the TV and I'm a perfectionist. These two things do not go together when the pattern is somewhat complex, lol. I'm almost done (knock wood) as long as I don't have to rip back again. It's going to be gorgeous but it took a long time. :)

Ever since I discovered that there is nettle yarn, I have dreamed of making sort of an openwork sweater from it, with one sleeve of white fun fur, inspired by the youngest brother in the fairy tale "The Wild Swans." It's an idea left over from an Anderson's fairy tale knit-a-long I ended up not doing . . . but maybe someday I will!
Thanks for the great giveaway!
