I would like you to do the following if you would like to be entered into this week's giveaway:

1. Read over the rules if you have not done so already.

2. Leave a comment on this blog post by the end of Sunday, 1/27/13. How many projects do you have on the needles right now? Be honest. Are you like Stephen and me with lots of things going at once? Or, are you the start one and finish it before moving on kind of knitters?

I'll randomly pick the winners in 2 weeks and post the results along with the new giveaway, so be sure to check back. Good luck everyone.

I have 3 projects on the needles at the moment. Two are designs in progress that are in timeout because I need to figure stuff out. The third is a set of fingerless mitts that should be done soon. I usually start a project and knit monogamously until it's done, but I often will have two projects in work. One that's simple enough for social knitting and one that requires concentration. And then maybe a couple designs in timeout.

I have 3 projects on the needles at the moment. A pair of socks for Dh which are fairly new, a Breakwater jersey that has the neck done and nothing else and a Central Park Hoodie that is over halfway done, but has been on the needles for almost 3 years; I'm concentrating on it as I feel it's holding me back.

Molly said...

I normally tackle things one project at a time, but I have the second of a pair of socks on the needles right now, and I can feel my willpower to keep knitting it draining away... I think I'm going to have to cast on for something big and bulky or I'm going to lose it!

flossieKNITS said...

Oy... Honestly? I have 5 projects on the needles... One super bulky blanket, one geodesic cardigan, one cowl designed by me, one pair of socks for my Dad, and one hat designed by me. I think. I think that's it. It might not be.

Kate Price said...

7 - 1 long term sock scrap blanket, 1 that is blocking and 5 others in various stages before blocking (and before the knitting is finished)

Elle said...

Let's see here... One sweater, two pairs of socks, two blankets, one scarf, one cowl, one hat, and one shawl. Yikes! My goal for 2013 is to finish or frog all WIPs and STOP buying yarn. Hahaha. Wish me luck?

Stasia said...

Just one project on the needles - a uniquely constructed scarf using a sequined, variegated yarn in pale blues and grays and white... very Dr. Zhivago!

TopHat said...

I try only one thing at a time. I have some things that need finishing: blocking, buttons, etc. But only one thing on the actual needles at a time.

Iva said...

Three, that I can remember anyway: one long-sleeved sweater, one shirt-sleeved top, and a cardigan. Sure does seem as though there was one more...hmm.

fayofthewoods on Ravelry said...

Right now I have four projects on my needles and two on my hooks. I also have a shawl to finish blocking.

I prefer to work one project at a time, but some projects just don't travel well or need a lot of attention, so I start an easier and faster project.

Unknown said...

3! One endless sock in my purse (endless cuz I rarely work on it), one sweater coat just started (currently my easy knitting as it is the back and all rib), and one new technique project - a double knitting scarf. A couple inches done, but it may have to be started over with a much smaller needle!

Emily said...

At least 6 on the needles (and those are the quasi-active ones), and two more waiting for buttons!

Kitten With a Whiplash said...

I'm mostly monogomous in my knitting, but occasionally I'll have two wips at once. Right now it's one.

Michelle said...

I have two on the needles (two-at-a-time socks and a shawlette) and one off the needles (a skirt that needs seaming).

Rachel said...

Do you mean actually on needles?!? You see, some are taken off needles I needed for other more urgent (at the moment) projects...

I probably have around 10 projects in all sorts of knitted stages but I actively knitting very faithfully on one cardigan at the moment!

UmmRania said...

I only have 2 because I am test knitting a shawl and it has to be finished in 10 days.....but am on the edging so I will soon have more, then I have a pair of socks to knit on when I cant knit on the shawl.

Thanks again for the giveaway.

Karen Steenberg said...

2 projects I am actively knitting on, 1 that is being ignored because I made an error in the cable pattern but I will return with a hook and fix it, another that because of the technique is taking so long that I only knit on it in little spurts, and then one hibernating one that is in risk of getting frogged. All sweaters of different sort, which is a bit much for me.

Loved the video, and definetly want a knitcation too. But you can not always get what you want, but there will come a time.

Amber said...

I think I have seven projects on the needles right now, though one needs to be frogged and the size changed (something to do with a little person growing...) and two others I've lost the love for so may yet be frogged also. But I really only have four that I'd consider as 'current' wip's - a WWFY project, a design-in-process project, a 'when out' project and a quick knit I have to have done by the weekend (so it's my ONLY current wip right now!)

Renee Anne said...

I honestly only have three projects on needles right now (my Icarus Shawl, a pair of Monkey Socks, and a pair of vanilla socks). Admittedly, though, I pulled out yarn to start a new project...but it's on my Year of Projects list so it's fine :)

T. L. Howl said...

Hrm, there's the long-suffering legwarmers from the Lace Style book, 75% complete.

Then a qiviut cowl for this blasphemous weather...

Another cowl for a friend, ribbed, bulky, simple.

A crocheted sheepdog outfit--does that count?

So three or four at this point. So many in queue, of course...

Anonymous said...

I have about 4 or 5 projects on the needles right now. This is quite usual for me, but every once in a while I'll get in a "mood" and decided to finish everything up immediately. That definitely feels good! But only every once in a while... ;)

Jessica Snell said...

I have three right now: the Beekeeper's Quilt, a pair of kilt hose for my husband, and a lacy scarf.

I used to have more projects going at a time, but I've found through trial and error that I'm happier with fewer.

Kayla said...

I have only two projects on needles now

Melody said...

Right now just one. I'm doing cables for the first time so I just want to focus on that.

Orli said...

I've got 5. A scarf that I cast on and then immediately left alone, a pair of socks that's about 1/3 of the way through the first sock, a pair of gloves that just needs fingers on the first glove (and then the second glove of course!), and two pairs of fingerless gloves that need a second glove each. I'm working on a completely different fingerless glove instead.

Jessica Powers said...

Uh....10 in my Rav in progress list, but I feel that there are at least two more floating about hiding from the online organizing. ahahaha! I'm so not monogamous in my knitting.

Amanda said...

If you count stragglers that just need ends woven in, I have...

6 (?) Probably more, actually, but that's all I can account for at the moment. To be fair, 3 of them are pairs of belated Christmas socks for various relatives and one is a sample.

Tas said...

I have 2 on the go. One has been on the needles for a week and the other for over a year...About to cast on 2 more! I never used to be able to knit more than 1 project at a time but things have changed.

Marlitharn said...

I have 5 projects going at the moment. A scarf, a hat, a lace cowl, socks, and a shawl. Although I'm counting the hat as a swatch (playing with a colorwork pattern for a sweater) and the socks are mindless stockinette TV knitting and the scarf is thisclose to being frogged, so I'm only counting 2 projects.

Lupie said...

I have 8 projects on the needles at this point and this helps me avoid the,"OMG I have no idea what I'm going to make next", panic when I finish a project.

affiknity said...

Hoping that my family is not reading this, I have 7 UFOs right now. Only one is in active knitting mode, others are gathering dust.

knitalatte said...

I have 3 projects in progress, 1 design, 1 cowl and the never ending 1 hexipuff. This is the lowest number in awhile. I want to cast on for a hat, so cold out!

Stranded Things said...

Umm... let's see. I think only three at the moment. I'm pretty good about finishing projects, except for the ones I'm ambivalent about! And all three fall into that category. Which means that I'm casting something new on tomorrow at the latest...

Ely said...

I have 3 projects on my needles right now, one tiny afghan square and two giant epic lace shawls. For 3 years (at least) I've been trying to finish all my WIPs and UFOs.. and have almost made it... Several times I've been down to 1, but that one is always some pic lace project or other with hundreds of stitches or edge repeats to go. Maybe this year will be the year I finally get to experience how it feels to have finished everything.

Anonymous said...

I always have at least two projects on my needles - one that is easy that I can take to knit night - and one a little more complicated.

jennybookworm said...

I have at least eight or nine projects on the go - there are a few in there that should be frogged and that just hasn't happened yet but I always have many projects on the go to suit any mood and knitting opportunity.

Evelyn said...

I'm trying a new tactic this year and plan to have only one or two (or three!) wips. So far, so good!

susanmhj said...

Only two on the needles right now, a sweater that I HAD to start and a pair of socks. The socks are lovely madtosh yarn in fig, and the sweater is Jo Sharp Dk silkroad tweed, interesting design found on rav.. the Beck sweater. Need to finish both so i can wear before it gets too warm!

Gynx said...

Right now I only have 3 projects going! Sometimes I feel a bit bored and want to cast something on, but I'm kind of enjoying seeing lots of progress made on a few things.

Robin said...

Well...there are layers to what is on the needles. While there are technically seven ongoing projects in my WIP basket, only four have been touched in any length of time. Only one is currently getting any attention since I bound off a blanket yesterday.
I made a resolution this year to get the WIPs under control. But that doesn't mean less projects, I just want to finish up some of the old projects.

Anonymous said...

I've two WIP's at the moment. I never have more than four because that just makes me stressed about not finishing anything.

Beth said...

I have 3 WIPs right now, and none of them are things I really want to be working on! I have a dishcloth, a scrappy garter afghan, and a simple scarf in the works. Life has been very hectic and those are safe projects. I really want to tackle something more fun, but I feel like I should finish at least one of these first.

Erin said...

Well, I'm totally not counting the two projects that I haven't touched in a year. I should really just frog those. At the moment, I have nothing I'm actively working on. I could do a few hexipuffs if I felt like it. I'm about to cast on a sweater. While working on that, I'll likely also start a cowl or pair of mittens. So, yeah, I usually have a couple of projects going at any one time.

Emily said...

Just one project on the needles at the moment: an infinity scarf for a friend's birthday. I typically have just one project going at at time for anything smaller than a sweater. If I'm taking on something like that which will take longer to knit then I might also have a second smaller project going simultaneously.

Anonymous said...

I usually stick to one project, but will work on something in between if there is a problem where I have to wait to get back to it. Probably usually just one project and one on the side if needed.
I have lots of unstarted projects on my projects page waiting...
A few UFOs waiting...

Nice goodies!!

Rae Lynne said...

I believe the count is 7. I have several projects lined up and waiting and I haven't yet cast on. There are a couple projects I cast on and then frogged to start over and haven't gotten back to them. I didn't count those. Of the 7, all but 2 are in hibernation.

I tend to start something and then get distracted and start something else. And then the deadline looms or the voice in my head nags on me about not finishing the earlier project so I get back to it to finish them up. I tend to only work on 1 or 2 projects at a time, even though I always have several floating...

Rea said...

I have six things in progress right now. Two pairs of socks, blanket squares for Knitters for Newtown, the beginnings of a celtic knot pillow for my etsy store, a headscarf to go with a set of winter gloves and cowl (probably not going to be done for THIS winter!) and a last minute cast-on for the Jimmy Beans Downton Abbey KAL! I didn't realize what a project harlot I was till just now!

Chelsea W said...

I tried really hard to limit the projects I haven't finished. But then I decided that changing needs and moods made that impossible. I have a wrap, a lace shawl, an afghan, a scarf, and a baby sweater in progress. That's five--yikes! Thanks for the chance :-)

Anonymous said...

Well, certainly I am a poly-knitter ! I even don't know the number of my projects... maybe 5 or even 7 ... :)

By_defination said...

I'm usually a "at home" project and "to go" project kind of person. My "home project" is complicated project that needs a lot of attention so I can tune out the "idiot box" my family seems to like, while my "to go" project is usually something simple that I can do without looking at the thing for occassions of mindless waiting in the car or in the grocery store. However since I haven't been "on the go" alot recently, I only have one project on the needles at the moment: a shawl by Goddess Knits that has taken me over six months to complete. It's beautiful but it ran into complicaitons of exams and graduating college, so it hibernated awhile and I'm in the last few rows of finishing this shawl. After it is finished, I'm cast on an Evenstar shawl (for a complicated project) and a scarf (for a simple project).

Holly said...

Oh dear...at least four, counting the long-term troublesome projects.

Phyllis said...

Hah! I don't even know how many projects I have going now. Quite a few. They're packed away from a move, though, so I can't get to them to count them or work on them. I only have one project out and actually in progress.

Megan said...

Right now I have 3 projects going.{Not counting my Beekeeper's Quilt ongoing project}. I used to be very faithful to just one project at a time.. but now I start a bunch and finish them up one at a time.

Honestly? I think there are 5... or 6. Some may never be restarted and there might be something else lurking in the bin...

I have one sock going. I also have an unfinished pair. (not sure I like the finished sock, so I haven't bothered knitting the second yet). I do like the one on the needles however, I'm positive I will finish the second of the pair this weekend.

Reneelynn said...

Right now I have 3 pair of socks on needles, but I'm working right along on them.

Sarah said...

I have 2 projects on the needles, one big and one small.
Annnd ONE project on a hook - this is totally new to me and I love it!
Usually the number of projects i have going reflects my yarn budget LOL, if i am broke, i am usually down to one project. sad but true!

Kristina said...

I have at least 4 projects on the needles. I'm working on a pair of knee high socks and a sweater. Then I have a few UFOs that I'm decidedly not working on.

Rosemary said...

Six projects literally "on the needles," and three that are hibernating in other states (pieces of 2 softies that need to be sewn together and stuffed, and a lone sock without a mate).

I never even realize how many I have going at once until I stop and count them ... yikes.

Kristen said...

I have 3 projects on the needles right now. I'd like to have more, but I'm fighting startitis with all my might.

I am generally a one project at a time knitter, but I currently have two projects in the works. One stays home all the time (Seashore Cowl by Milja Uimonen) and one travels with me (beekeeper's quilt).

kjramstack said...

I have 3 projects on the needles right now: a hat for my husband, a toddler sweater, and apple cozies. I also have some unfinished yarn on the wheel. I think it's good to have different stuff going on because you might not want to work on a hard project while chatting with your knitting friends.

Anonymous said...

How many projects on the needles?? I have at least 6 that I can remember but I'm sure there are others tucked in the back of the stash bins. I get inspired and work on something and every so often... OOoh Shiny!

butnostephanie said...

I have a grand total of 11 wip, and i fully intend to finish 9 of them this year. oh, the shame of it all.

Christine Lima said...

Um...a lot. My Rav project pages show 4 on the needles, but I know there are at least a "few" more around that I haven't added to Ravelry. So we'll go with "about 10." ;)

Kirsty said...

Right now I have 2 pairs of socs, one scarf, and a sweater (which needs to find its way out of the cupboard..) on the needles! I don't like to have too many projects on the go at once, I tend to finish one and move on to another.

Anonymous said...

Quite honestly I am not sure. I clicked off 10 on my fingers and quit before taking off my socks to count higher. Its scary how many I have going at a time. and even scarier I am comtemplating going to the lys foryet another project.
**in my defense I am about to start a test knit and that's why I need more yarn. One project is a blanket that I know will take me most of the year. and several are little toys I design for charity.

knit2theend said...

I currently only have one project on the go: a small fair isle vest for an iPad. It feels strange only having one thing, but I'm waiting on yarn being dyed up for an Evenstar shawl.

Nadine Knits said...

I have eleven (11) on the needles that I can identify. only 1 is a 2013 start. 2 are near finishing, but a MKAL has sidetracked me from them. I have high hopes for this week.

sacha said...

I want to leave my comment in the perfect place- this is maybe too early, BUT... here I go!

I try to be the kind of knitter that finishes a project before moving on, but usually I have two going at once- something simple and something more charted. Currently, I have Folded stalled out on the last sleeve and a scarf on the needles.

LitGeek said...

I'm going to say about 10. That doesn't count the 4 or 5 more I'm planning on putting on needles in the near future which are just ideas in my head. I'm horrible. So not a monogamous knitter as a friend would say.

greta said...

I have 2 projects - the dreaded second sock and the final thumb of the final mitten - really, 17 tiny rows and it's done. Not sure what my problem is!

Lcubed said...

4 projects currently on needles. One more very close to being cast on.

The 4 items include: 2 sweaters and 2 pair of socks.

I'm not counting the hibernating sweater that is not on needles. I needed the needles for something else, so put it on a piece of yarn. It is just waiting to either be frogged or reinvented.

I have 3 current/recent projects on the needles. As for older hibernating projects ... who knows!

I have 5 projects on the needles (1 sock, 1 shawl, 1 fingerless mitt, 1 snuggie, and 1 cat bed). I try to knit a bit on each project each week, but sometimes I'll knock out a pair of mitts or a hat within a day or two.

Ravelry says I have 9 and I think that's pretty accurate. The sad part is I have at least 9 in my head I haven't even started!

I've always more than one project on my needles. Currently I'm making a Selkie cape, an Olive Blouse and some mitts. And there are several hibernating projects. At least 5 or 6. Besides, I've hundreds of projects in my mind waiting for some time and the right yarn. ;)

Well, if I have to be brutally honest, I have way too many projects on the needles. There's the scarf that I started two years ago as car knitting - before I discovered lace. And another scarf that is lace, but got moved out of the way and I just haven't picked up again. Plus there's a bunch of things that I started as part of a 'cast on mania' contest last spring that I never finished. Currently, I'm working on a pair of leg warmers, a shawl, and I'm spinning yarn for a baby blanket. And I need to do the finishing on a tank top. Hmm, it doesn't look so bad when I look at it that way.

Angela said...

I have three projects on the needles, one waiting for ends to be sewn in and three waiting to be blocked!

I think I have 4 projects on the needles right now. I try to keep it under 5, and I usually limit myself to one sweater at a time, but that went out the window over the holidays when I needed some worsted weight stockinette to keep my hands busy when the family was around. And then I took up sewing too. Having to split hobbies is teaching me a bit about time.

Jen said...

I have two on the needles and one in the finishing bag that needs ends woven in. I can never have just one thing going, even though I wish I could.

Katie said...

I have 4 projects on the go right now (hopefully that's all and I haven't forgotten any). One is a quick gift, another is abulky knit blanket that I randomly work on and the other two are larger time consuming sweater and colour work projects for me.

I'm usually a 1 project kind of girl, but that doesn't keep me from dreaming of casting on other projects! Thanks so much for another awesome contest.

Right now I have three (maybe four) projects on the needles. One is in hibernation, so that fourth one doesn't count ;). The first one is waiting for an additional skein of yarn (I fell short 10 rows from the end, and yes, it hurts me as much as it hurts you to hear it!), the second is a shawl that's too big to travel now so it's my night time knitting. The third is a hat that travels with me back and forth to work. Not too many, I guess! Thanks for the chance to win!

I honestly have too many projects on the needles and hooks right now. I have Spectra and Barndom going, Batik, two pairs of vanilla socks (but with very cool yarn), I'm almost done with Mystere, have to bind off Scalene, two crochet & woven cotton carry-all bags, a crochet hip wrap/cover up for the beach and that doesn't count the two different looms, both with 6' shawls on them... Oh, and (OMG) I have a PILE of blocking that needs to be done.

Goodness, I just gave myself a headache...

KnittyAttitude said...

I'm not sure how many are on the needles at the moment but the ones I'm working on are a hat, a sweater design in the progress and a shawl design in the progress. Baby Surprise Jacket by EZ just came off my needles but I need to weave in ends and find buttons for it.

I technically have 4 on the needles... now that doesn't count the projects I took off the needles to use the needles to cast on something else.

I have, ahem, 9 projects on the needles at the moment--NOT all huge projects. I tend to start a whole bunch at the beginning of each quarter and then rotate among them as the mood comes to me. I usually finish all but one of them within the designated 3 months--and that gets finished the next quarter. And, occasionally one just doesn't work our as planned and goes to the frog pond.

I have probably at least 7 on the needles. But I really only consider two of them as current. The others have lost my interest and have to wait until the excitement of the new things is gone (or more likely, they are finished). I have found that if I get really excited about something I will be able to finish it if I plow through and don't stop for anything. It's how I managed an entirely colorwork and steeked sweater for Ravellenics this year.

I'm definitely the lots of projects on the needles at a time type, though sometimes I'll concentrate on one from start to finish even while the rest are waiting, if the project is small/deadlined/compelling enough. But I'd hate to not have any others to switch between at all!

It's hard to differentiate between hibernating UFOs and projects that have been on the needles a long time, but I have about, oh, eight projects I feel like I'm actively working on (or want to be!) right now.

Currently I have five projects on the needles and more awaiting my cast on. My biggest project on my needles right now is the beekeeper's quilt and I have been working on it since December 2011. I will finish it....I will finish it...

Annie J S said...

I have three. Which is pretty typical for me.

1) A Larch cardigan that needs sleeves and ribbing. Sleeves and ribbing are always the spot I get stuck. I'm hoping the loveliness of the yarn (MadTosh Pashmina) will keep me chugging through.

2) Girasole. It's gotten to that unwieldy stage where there are a lot of stitches and it's hot on my lap. And so it sits where I work on it in spurts.

3) A hat. Specifically Bandwidth from Westknits Book 2. Nearly done with it!

My goal is to finish all three before starting on something new. I love to start projects and then lose interest until I find something else to cast on. Up until a few weeks ago, I had 6 projects going on at once.

Oh boy...be honest...well let's see - I have hmm...5 sweaters, 1 skirt, 2 shawls, 3 different sock patterns, 1 cowl and 2 scarves.....14 projects!!! And all but 3 are about 6 months old or less!

Honestly!!!!! I'm crocheting an afghan now, and always have a dishcloth and socks on the needles. Besides those I have no other active projects going. However, I have a bunch of UFOs due to problems I don't know how to fix. If I weren't doing the afghan, I would probably have several active knitting projects going. I can't wait to finish the afghan so I can start more projects.

RIght now I have 5 projects started. 2 blankets, a sweater, a shawl and a hat! Of course, I just purchased yarn to make a Stephen West shawl from his book 4 - barndom.

I currently have 3 sweaters, a scarf, and a pair of socks on the needles. This is fairly unusual for me, especially the sweaters. I also don't normally knit scarves as they're super boring, but I'm using it to practice my lever knitting. Two of the sweaters are for me and one is for my mom, and the socks are for my sister in law.

I have a bulky blanket, a mohair jumper, a cotton toddler's jumper,a pair of socks and a bulky sweater for me, oh yes and a kiddies backpack.

I think I have a serious commitment problem!

I used to be a one at a time kind of girl, however I'm embarrassed to say I have 7 things that are on the needles right now! Eek! Two knitting projects and 5 are crochet.

Brenda said...

I have 4 on the needles, plus one in hibernation.
I try not to have too many items going at once because I really lose focus; I forget where I am in the pattern, forget the stitch pattern, just basically feel out of control.

I'm in 3 swaps right now, though, so I will be starting 3 items in the next week or so!

Oy, well, let me see. I have one shawl that is my travel project - car/appt and the like; a pair of fair isle mittens, about 2/3 done with first one (needs to be completed/blocked/photoed by 1/31); a cowl that is started in my mind, just not OTN, needs to be completed by 2/2; my first cardigan (Aidez), that was put on hold to complete other projects. I thought I had taken excellent notes, but didn't and am having a hard time figuring out with I did. A Christmas Stocking Kit that a friend gave me; it uses intarsia, something I've not learned yet, and about 3 other projects that are in time out for a variety of reasons. Geesh, I thought I was a two to three project person.
Fabulous blog posting, thank you for this opportunity! Isn't Stephen a blast!!

I am definitely a multi-project knitter, and I am also bad about finishing things, which is why I have a pair of socks still on the needles that have been all but bound off for months. My project page says I have 6 things on the go, which actually seems low for me!

I've got three projects in progress at the moment: a colourwork shawl that I've been working on for almost a year now, my very first pair of socks which is only one cuff away from being finished. Finally, I've just started on Moose River by Stephen West in a lovely blue/teal colour that will match my wardrobe perfectly!

I only have 2 projects on the needles right now. One of them is real small and I've been working on it for a long time, little squares for a quilt. I'm more of a 1 at a time knitter, otherwise I lose track of what I was doing.

You want honesty??? Yikes, I went into Ravelry and I have 12 projects on the needles, 2 mostly finished that I don't know what to do with, and 1 that needs frogging.... I think I need to get knitting.

Let's see if I can remember-- I have three active projects, and at least two that have been 'resting' for over a year. But I still have to fight the urge to start something new! I *am* about to finish the felted clogs that I 'gave' my daughter for her 11th birthday (she's, uh, 13 1/2 now...)

Four projects in progress! Main one is "Monk Cowl", because my coat doesn't have a hood! Just ordered yarn for a spring sweater called Palma, so that's the second one. Also have two blankets that are kind of on the back burner, but I'll finish them... soonish...

I have more projects on the needles than I can remember off-hand, but right now I am only actively working on about two of them: a hat and a blanket.

Debbie said...

Actually physically on the needles, I count ten, including two afghans that have the squares all done, just need assembling -- I thought it was much worse so I'm relieved it's "only" ten. At least two of these will never get finished so this is a good reminder to me to frog them. I am determined to finish or frog these ten in 2013 because I have many more ready to go, with the yarn and needles and pattern just waiting in a ziplock! But if it's not cast on, it's not a WIP!
Great giveaway! thanks so much!

Amazingly I only have one project on the needles right now, a Cria cardie in green. I usually have a few things underway at once, but because I'm waiting for more yarn to arrive I haven't been able to start new projects at my usual rate... The obvious solution is to get on with some spinning!

currently in progress:
a sweater
2 pairs of fingerless gloves (one glove of each set done, the other not yet cast-on)
a shawl and a scarf that may never get my attention again

so i guess that's 3, or 5 if we're counting the two i should garbage.

oh. and two that just need blocking.

I love the spring cleaning idea, lately that exact same thing has been happening to me :) I have never been a monogamous knitter and always fool around with lots of different projects and yarns according to my mood at the time, but then at some point a sudden urge hits me and I realise that most of my projects only need a little finishing like weaving in end, sewing on buttons or a couple of rows and then I get them done all at once :) or at least I try to!
At the moment I have about 5projects in my travel knitting bag, at home there are more, many more ...countless :)

A blanket for TV knitting, a pair of slippers that need modification - both for my partner. A scarf and a hat for bus knitting. Oh and a cowl for bus knitting plus a cowl that requires some attention beyond what is possible on the bus... I think that's it right now that is actually on the needles. No, it is not - a monster and a necklace too. That's what 8 projects? Why am I online and not knitting? *g*

1. Advent Scarf (yes I know it is a little late)

4. Glove #2 on fingerless gloves
5. Stuffed Hippo

I think that is it.

I have 6 or so on the needles. One is active, two are waiting for me to regain interest, one is waiting for me to not have dry winter hands that the yarn catches on, one is in long-term hibernation and there's one or two awaiting a frog or not verdict. Plus a crochet project that is waiting for me to figure out how to solve the "not enough yarn" problem.

I totally have knitting ADD!

I can only knit one thing at it time, otherwise I'd never finish anything! I am knitting a top down cardigan right now with some lovely yarn I picked up at Artfibers in SF on a recent trip there, but already planning my next project which will be either daybreak or clockwork.

I have two very active projects right now: a shawl and a hat. I have two pairs of socks in limbo, along with a baby blanket and a different shawl. I have a pair of fingerless mitts finished and blocked waiting for me to sew on the buttons. I am struggling with a bad case of startitis. There are two sweaters, a pair of socks, and another shawl itching to get started.

I have approximately 700 projects on the needles. Which may more may not actually add up to 7. I have knitting that requires focus and knitting that I can do while reading at work, and car knitting and tv knitting, and taking to movies and lectures knitting. It's possible that I might be a project harlot.

I WISH I could be one of those knitters who finishes one thing before moving on to the next! But no, definitely NOT. :)

Right now I am actively working on a lace infinity scarf and a handspun bolero (just weaving in ends and sewing on buttons left on that one, thank goodness!). However, I've got at least two scarves, a giant doily and a granny square scrappy afghan on the needles or hooks at the moment as well, languishing somewhere in the bowels of my craft room. :)

I confess. I have tons of UFOs on my needles... a pair of toe-up socks, a 50% finished shawl, a 80% finished shawl, a started cardigan, a Morgan cap, a baby sweater to seam up... and who knows whatelse. And of course my current project... a Piper's Journey Shawl. :) So I guess that totals 8.

Let's see - one pair of socks, one sweater, one vest, one stole, one baby sweater - I think that's it - five - but I still have two shawls to block - oh wait, one scarf - and I have two other scarves to block - and the never ending hexipuffs - do those count? So I guess, at least half a dozen - and I really want to start something new! Help!
